Electrical Engineer - Overmolded Custom Cable Assemblies (Dallas Fort Worth)

*Position Overview*Location: Houston, Dallas–Fort Worth, Arizona, or Denver. The company is planning to establish and operate in one or more of these locationsThe Electrical Engineer - Overmolded Custom Cable Assemblies will lead, establish, and optimize manufacturing operations focused on overmolded custom cable assemblies and wire harness production. This role is accountable for end-to-end plant performance, including production, quality, delivery, and cost, while ensuring compliance with AS9100 and ISO 9001:2015 standards.This is a hands-on leadership role, requiring direct experience in overmolding and custom cable assembly manufacturing within aerospace, defense, or high-reliability electronics environments.*Key Responsibilities**Operations & Production Leadership*Lead daily manufacturing operations including cable assembly, wire harnessing, and overmoldingDrive performance against key metrics including On-Time Delivery (OTD), throughput, and labor efficiencyDevelop and execute production plans aligned with customer demand and program timelinesEnsure optimal utilization of labor, equipment, and capacity*Quality & Compliance*Ensure full compliance with AS9100 and ISO 9001:2015 standardsLead audit readiness, participate in internal and external audits, and drive Corrective Actions (CARs)Maintain strict adherence to traceability, documentation control, and workmanship standards (IPC/WHMA-A-620 preferred)Partner with Quality teams to reduce defects, rework, and scrap*Team Leadership & Workforce Development*Lead and develop supervisors, team leads, and production staffDrive accountability, performance management, and continuous skills developmentSupport recruitment, onboarding, and structured training programsBuild a high-performance, safety-driven culture*Process Improvement & NPI Integration*Identify inefficiencies and implement Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiativesImprove workflow, cycle times, and cost efficiencyCollaborate with Engineering and NPI teams to ensure smooth product introduction and scale-upSupport transition from First Article to stable production*Supply Chain & Cross-Functional Coordination*Work closely with Supply Chain, Purchasing, and Inventory to ensure material readinessAlign production schedules with material availability and customer commitmentsCoordinate with Shipping and Logistics to meet delivery timelines*Health, Safety & Compliance*Ensure compliance with OSHA and local safety regulationsPromote a safety-first culture through audits, training, and enforcement of proceduresMaintain safe operation of equipment, tooling, and overmolding processes*Reporting & Performance Management*Track, analyze, and report on key operational KPIsProvide visibility on risks, bottlenecks, and mitigation plansCommunicate effectively with senior leadership and cross-functional stakeholders*New Facility Setup & Expansion (if applicable)*Lead new site setup, including layout design, equipment installation, and process flowEstablish work instructions, SOPs, and production controlsSupport hiring, training, and ramp-up to full operational capacity*Qualifications & Experience**Required*5–10+ years of experience in manufacturing operations leadershipProven hands-on experience in:Overmolding processesCustom cable assemblies / wire harness manufacturing*Preferred*Degree in Engineering, Operations, or related fieldBackground as an Electronics Engineer or Electronic TechnologistExperience with IPC/WHMA-A-620 standardsExposure to aerospace or defense manufacturing environmentsExperience in electronics quality control systemsExisting industry or customer network within cable assembly/overmolding sector*Core Competencies*Operations leadership and executionLean manufacturing and continuous improvementProblem-solving and Urgency to deliver productsCross-functional collaborationStrong communication and stakeholder managementProject Management*Success Metrics*On-Time Delivery (OTD) performanceProduction throughput and efficiencyReduction in defects, rework, and scrapUrgency and Problem solving to deliver resultsEffective Action, not overplanningSimplify do not add ComplexityHappy CustomersDon't create obstacles, overcome themBuild a solid and cohesive teamJob Type: Full-timePay: $70,000.00 - $100,000.00 per yearBenefits:Health insuranceLife insurancePaid time offApplication Question(s):* In 5 to 8 sentences, clearly explain why you are qualified for this role, including your direct experience with overmolding and custom cable assembliesEducation:* Bachelor's (Preferred)Experience:Cable Assembly: 5 years (Required)Overmolding: 5 years (Required)Electronics Quality Control Environment : 3 years (Required)Ability to Relocate:* Dallas, TX 75225: Relocate before starting work (Required)Work Location: In person
