Senior Electrical Engineer (San Francisco)

About the RoleA San Francisco-based company is seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to join our integrated project team focused on designing some of the most energy‐efficient and sustainable buildings in the country. In this role, you will lead the design and optimization of high‐performance electrical systems while collaborating closely with architects, engineers, owners, and other consultants. You'll work on innovative projects across commercial, residential, institutional, and industrial sectors, helping advance our mission to decarbonize the built environment and support a zero‐carbon, all‐electric future.Key ResponsibilitiesLead the design and development of electrical systems, service sizing, and power distribution for new construction and retrofit projectsPrepare design documentation including reports, calculations, single‐line diagrams, and specificationsProvide early‐stage consulting support during concept and schematic design, including utility coordination and service planningReview and oversee electrical design documents to ensure accuracy, code compliance, and alignment with project goalsCoordinate electrical systems with architectural, mechanical, plumbing, and other building systems to support holistic, sustainable designSupport projects through construction and commissioning to verify design intent and system performanceCommunicate effectively with clients and stakeholders, including presenting technical findings and proposals to both technical teams and executive audiencesStay current with industry trends, codes, technologies, and best practices related to electrification, decarbonization, and high‐performance buildingsContribute to business development efforts, client relationships, and thought leadership through technical papers, presentations, and outreachMentor junior engineers and support quality control and quality assurance efforts across projectsQualificationsBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field (Master's degree a plus)10+ years of experience in electrical system design for buildingsProficiency with relevant design and analysis software (e.g., AutoCAD and energy or sustainability modeling tools)Strong analytical, problem‐solving, communication, and organizational skillsAbility to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teamsProficiency with Microsoft and Google productivity suitesPassion for sustainability, electrification, and decarbonization
