Graduate Speech Language Pathology Practicum Coordinator
Brescia University seeks full-time faculty members whose teaching philosophy aligns with our mission and who are passionate about high quality teaching, student mentorship, and inclusive learning environments.
We invite applications for our Graduate Speech Language Pathology Practicum Coordinator. This is a 12-month position.
Experience and Education requirements:
Ph.D. in Speech or communication sciences disorders or SLPD preferred;
Master’s degree in Speech Pathology and 3 years of experience teaching in higher education may be considered in lieu of Ph.D.
Only terminal degree will have tenure track
Current KY license in field preferred
Responsibilities are, but not limited to:
Work with the SLP Graduate Program Director to encompass all things with Practicums
Provide practicum orientation and on-going advisement to all students/faculty throughout the graduate program
Oversee practicum placement site approval and the contract process for all placements
Maintain all record keeping maintenance of CALIPSO (which is housing site for the CAA/ASHA standard)
Communicate with sites and supervisors in all stages of the practicum
Guide students through successful completion of practicums
Work to improve manuals, policies, procedures /quality improvement measures as it relates to Practicums
Conduct weekly Discussion Boards for all student in practicums each semester/Maintain Moodle SLP Graduate Practicum Page
Work with the Course Instruction for Practicum education
Trouble shoot all practicum situations/needs
Attend faculty meetings
Assist in preparation for CAA accreditation visit and reports in areas that relate to clinical education
Teaches 6 credit hours per semester (intended for this position to teach Practicum courses)
Attend monthly division meetings
Other duties as assigned based on program needs (ie: academic advising, club sponsorship, portfolio advising, etc.) and as listed in the Faculty Handbook
