Summary: The Pre/Post-Press Supervisor is responsible for ensuring high quality inks and screens are produced on schedule, maintaining old screens in good condition, repairing screens and supervising the work of the Ink Mixers, Samplers, Screen Technicians, Wash Bay and Darkroom employees. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS The essential duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not necessarily limited to: Oversee screen operations to ensure smooth operation. Continuously review best practices methodologies and procedures that enhance quality and services, ensure safe workplace practices, and personnel development. Ensure all new screens are completed on schedule and ensure there is always a supply of screens that are ready to go. Assist production by repairing screens that break down during the production cycle and by ensuring that needed screens are in good repair and running condition. Maintain an adequate stock of supplies needed in Pre/Post-Press area; library meshes, emulsions, tapes, glue, inks, pigments, stencil cleaner etc. Oversee that all screens are coated, printed by the i-Image, and taped for at least 2 days worth of scheduled print jobs. Ensure i-Image, Eco-Rinse, and Eco-Tex maintenance checklist are completed according to the manufacturers recommended schedule. Lead Screen Techs; delegate and schedule tasks to ensure deadlines are met. Oversee the re-stretching of screens and proper rotation of the screen inventory. Work with the Ink tech and mixer to make sure we are at least 2 days ahead with premixed inks. Ensure cleanliness and organization standards of the screen area. Hold screen team accountable to do same. Oversee sample schedule and ensure that samples are completed by the prescribed dates Oversee the sampling of all designs and ensure samples meet company standards. Ensure that reclaim and bucket wash areas are on schedule and kept in a clean fashion Other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS Ability to carry screens weighing up to 50 lbs. Able to stand for long periods of time Able to use basic hand tools to repair screens Able to supervise the work of others Safety conscious PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS Standing for extended periods of time while bending, stooping, reaching, twisting, pushing, pulling, carrying, lifting and moving up to 45lbs. Ability to visibly distinguish colors and compare detailed replication of images to master versions. Manual dexterity for operating and calibrating machinery Ability to perform essential job functions in an environment with varied noise levels. Machinery, equipment and paints may emit smells as a component of routine operation. The production shop floor environment may be dusty, noisy, and open to interior temperature changes. Must be able to abide by the companys Exposure Prevention, Preparedness, and Response guidelines as it relates to the spread of communicable diseases, and workplace safety; this includes use of masks (as needed and required per CDC and Company recommendations) and the ability to use cleaning supplies for cleaning and disinfection purposes.
