Welder - Copper/Nickel

Job Description CDR General Services is seeking a Copper-Nickel Welder near Franklin, LA to perform precision welding on copper-nickel alloys for marine applications. This role requires advanced TIG and MIG welding skills, strict adherence to quality standards, and the ability to work in challenging environments. Job Details Job Type: Full-Time Job Location: Franklin, LA Pay Rate: $40 to $45 per hour Schedule: Monday to Friday, 6:00 A.M. – 5:00 P.M. Potential Overtime: Weekdays and Weekends Key Responsibilities Perform TIG (GTAW) and MIG (GMAW) welding on copper-nickel alloys to exact specifications. Prepare, fit, and align materials prior to welding. Inspect welds for quality, strength, and compliance with ASME and AWS welding codes. Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and welding symbols (preferred). Maintain welding equipment and tools in optimal condition. Follow all safety protocols, including PPE usage and hazard awareness. Work in confined spaces, at heights, and in various weather conditions. Collaborate with fabricators, pipefitters, and supervisors to meet project deadlines. Demonstrate strong attention to detail to support quality assurance requirements. Qualifications 3–5 years of experience in the ship/boat building industry. Ability to pass MSB Pre-Employment Mock Weld Test. Experience in marine and shipbuilding preferred. Knowledge of ASME and AWS welding codes. Ability to read blueprints and welding symbols a plus. Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs., stand, bend, stoop, squat, kneel, and climb stairs/ladders regularly.
