Must be willing to work weekends./ppCandidates should have exceptional people and communication skills, be highly skilled in multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment, a commitment to achieving a high level of accuracy and attention to detail, and a no-task-too-small approach to the work./ppKnowledge of medical office procedures including surgery procedures and practices/ppKnowledge of medical practice and care to assist in giving patient care/ppKnowledge of medical equipment and instruments to administer patient care/ppKnowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe work environment/ppSkill in maintaining records and recording test results/ppSkill in developing and maintaining department quality assurance/ppSkill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, medical staff and the public/ppAbility to maintain quality control standards including, but not limited to confidentiality/ppAbility to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations/ppAbility to interpret, adapt and apply guidelines and procedures/ppAbility to communicate clearly/ppKnowledge of interrelationship of surgery department with laboratory and radiology/ppKnowledge of grammar, spelling and punctuation to type patient information/ppSkill in operating a computer, photocopy machine, fax and other office equipment/ppSkill in answering the telephone in a pleasant and helpful manner/ppAbility to speak clearly and concisely/ppAbility to read, understand and follow oral and written instructions/ppResponsibilities/ppThis position is responsible for assisting in the delivery of primary health care and patient care management/ppMay perform selected nursing and administrative duties, such as referrals and authorizations/ppPrepare patients for examination and treatment/ppTake patient vital signs/ppPrepare exam and treatment rooms with necessary instruments and supplies/ppGive injections, apply splints and dressings/ppPrepare and maintain supplies and equipment for treatments, including sterilization/ppAssist physicians in preparing for minor surgeries, physicals/ppScreen telephone calls for referral to physician or provider/ppRelay provider communications to patients by phone or mail/ppProvide general information on departmental policies and/ppIn the spirit of teamwork, employees are expected to follow any other job-related instructions and to perform any other job-related duties as requested./ppBenefits/ppWe provide competitive pay, excellent benefits including medical, dental, vision, and life insurance, and paid time off./ppQualifications/ppHigh school diploma / GED equivalent required./ppGraduation from an accredited program for Medical Assistants required./ppBlood draws/p/div
