This part-time position provides immediate capacity in development operations and event coordination, supporting the Managing Director directly during an active period of organizational transition.The Development & Events Coordinator will handle the operational backbone of LAW's fundraising and events program donor database management, gift processing, donor acknowledgments, and eventlogisticssupport freeing the Managing Directorto focus on donor cultivation and othermajor fundraising priorities. This is a hands-on, execution-focused role well suited to a development professional who is highly organized, self-directed, and can contribute meaningfully from day one.This position reports to the Managing Director.Responsibilities:Development Operations Maintain and update LAW's donor database (Bloomerang), including gift entry, pledge tracking, and data hygiene; process donations and generate timely, accurate donor acknowledgment letters; support execution of LAW's donor stewardship activities and communications; assist with prospect research and development of donor and email lists; prepare development reports and summaries for the Managing Director; and support administration of fundraising appeals and day-to-day development communications.Event Coordination Support project management andlogisticsfor LAW's key fundraising and programmatic events, working alongside LAW's longtime Event Planner (contractor). Events include Making Waves (LAW's signature annual fundraising gala), Recharge LA (a 2-day water policy conference), the Infrastructure Justice Symposium (a public convening onequitablewater infrastructure), and Seaside Sips(annualboard dinner & donor cultivationevent). Event support responsibilities include invitations management and RSVP tracking,maintainingevent timelines,tasklistsandbudgetsin coordination with the Managing Director andEvent Planner, and post-event follow-up including attendee capture, thank-you communications, and database updates.Administrative Support Provide administrative support to the Managing Director on development-related tasks;assistwith formatting and production of donor collateral including proposals, impact reports, and appeal materials; andparticipatein relevant staff meetings and team activities.Qualifications & Requirements:The Development & Events Coordinator will be a self-directed, detail-oriented professional with hands-on nonprofit development or fundraising operations experience. Preferred qualifications include:Minimum 3 years of nonprofit development, fundraising operations, or event coordination experienceHands-on experience with donor database systems;Bloomerangor similar CRM strongly preferredDemonstrated ability to coordinate fundraising or community events from planning through executionStrong organizational skills and attention to detail; able to manage multiple concurrent workstreamsComfortable working independently in a small team environmentClear, professional written communication skillsProficiencywith Microsoft suite and project management tools; Asana a plusCommitment to equity, inclusion, and LAW's environmental missionEnvironmental or advocacy nonprofit background a plus, but notrequiredWorking Conditions & Physical RequirementsSome evening and weekend work isrequiredfor events throughout the year.Travel within LA County and access to reliableautomobilerequired.Able to work on a computer for extended periods; able to read a computer screen and manual dexterity tooperatea keyboard.Able to speak clearly on the phone and in person and be understood by others.For events, meetings, and a safe office, COVID-19 vaccination is strongly requested from all staff and personnel.SalaryThis is a part-time, non-exempt position reporting to the Managing Director.
