Electrical Engineer - Solar (Multiple Locations)

Overview In this role you drive electrical design for solar power projects across multiple sites, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver compliant, buildable layouts and wiring strategies. You will model and analyze electrical systems, support permitting, and act as a field engineer on construction sites, shaping project outcomes from concept through construction. You’ll work within the Power global practice to enable utility-scale solar and related technologies, contributing to safe, efficient and scalable power solutions. This is a hands-on, field-connected engineering position with client-facing and presentation responsibilities. ResponsibilitiesPerform electrical design from concept to design completionDevelop equipment layouts, one-line diagrams, cable routing, grounding, wiring and equipment specificationsModify and review electrical drawingsConduct cable ampacity and trench design with CYMCAP, ETAP or AmpCalcModel electrical systems with ETAP or SKM for reports (short circuit, reactive power, load flow, arc flash)Model grounding systems with CDEGs and WinIGSDesign electrical components per project needs and specificationsCoordinate with authorities on permitting requirementsPerform field inspections, measurements, and act as field engineer on construction sitesPrepare client presentations, shop drawings review, and contract administrationEnsure compliance with policies and standardsResearch data for each projectSupport project managers with design decisions Key requirementsBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from ABET-accredited program and 4 years of experienceOR Bachelor’s in Electrical or related Engineering Technology with ABET accreditation and FE exam passed and 4 years of experienceOR Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering and 2 years of experienceExperience with utility-scale solar projects (>5MW)Strong knowledge of electrical engineering techniques and proceduresExcellent written and verbal communication, collaboration, and organization skillsProficient in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, MicroStation, 2D/3D rendering software, and related analysis programsEIT certification preferred, PE license encouragedTeam collaborationCommunication skillsOrganizationCYMCAPETAPAmpCalc
