Jr Full Stack Java Developer

Exciting Opportunity: Full Stack Junior Java Developer (Banking Focus) We are seeking a talented Full Stack Java Developer with 2-6+ years of experience, preferably from the banking industry, to join our innovative team in the NYC area. In this critical role, you'll leverage your expertise to develop and maintain web applications, APIs, and backend systems that support our financial services operations. This is an excellent chance to apply your banking IT experience in a dynamic environment committed to technology-driven success.In summary, you will:  Design, develop, test, and maintain web applications, APIs, and batch processes using Java.Design database schemas and implement/tune SQL for RDBMS (e.g., Amazon RDS/Aurora, MS/SQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL).Build and operate systems on AWS (e.g., EC2, ECS, Lambda, RDS, S3, CloudWatch).Design for high availability and reliability in 24/7 environments (redundancy, health checks, monitoring, alerting, backup and recovery).Perform incident response: initial investigation, recovery, root cause analysis, and implementation of permanent fixes.Execute regular maintenance (patching, releases, performance testing).Collaborate closely with infrastructure, operations, and business teams.Requirements include:2-6+ years of hands-on Java development experience in web applications and backend systems, ideally within banking or financial servicesProven experience working with RDBMS such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or SQL Server—schema design, SQL tuning, and performance optimizationStrong familiarity with Linux environmentsPractical knowledge of AWS cloud services (EC2, Lambda, RDS, S3, CloudWatch)Experience participating in system monitoring, incident response, and high-availability system designProficiency in Microsoft Office SuiteAbility to work effectively independently or collaboratively across multiple projectsBachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related fieldMust reside locally in the NYC area and available to interview and work onsiteAuthorized to work in the U.S. without any visa transfer or sponsorship requiredExperience with banking industry-specific applications or financial processing systemsKnowledge of automation and scripting toolsUnderstanding of back-office banking operations and compliance considerationsApply on our career portal: https://www.pbsearch.com/hf/3120
