Every other weekend required. No call required. Highlights: Specialized ED Holding Support position within the Float Pool managing inpatient boarders awaiting placement Fast-paced environment with diverse adult medical/surgical patient populations, including PCU-level acuity Patient ratios: 1:6 for MS/Tele patients or 1:4 for PCU-level patients Epic charting system with 12-hour orientation provided Float opportunities to Emergency Department and Medical/Surgical areas as needed based on census Flexibility with up to 7 days of approved time off during contract Requirements: Minimum 2 years of acute care RN experience required Active NC or Compact RN license (must be in hand at start date) BLS and ACLS certifications required; NIHSS preferred Must pass EKG testing prior to start date Core skills required: MS/Tele, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, telemetry monitoring (unit and remote), blood product administration, peripheral and PICC line management, colostomy and feeding tube care, renal failure management, chest tube management, CPAP/BiPAP, High Flow Nasal Cannula, ABG interpretation, tracheostomy management, and isolation precautions Preferred skills: IV insulin protocols, pre/post hemodialysis management, port access, central line management, IV starts, CVA care, pre/post neurosurgery, spinal cord injuries, traumatic brain injury, ortho trauma, total joint replacements, and wound care/wound vac Epic charting experience preferred Two recent manager/supervisor references highly preferred Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions only) Why It's a Great Opportunity: This dynamic position offers the chance to work in a high-acuity Emergency Department holding environment while managing a diverse range of adult medical/surgical diagnoses.
