Aviation Project Engineer

What We're Looking For:Barge Design Solutions, Inc. is seeking a driven Aviation Project Engineer to join our team in Nashville, TN or Huntsville, AL. In this role, you will contribute to the planning, design, and delivery of aviation infrastructure projects that enhance connectivity and support the growth of the communities we serve.You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of experienced engineers and industry professionals, gaining exposure to a wide range of airport and airfield projects. If you are looking to advance your career in aviation engineering while making a tangible impact, Barge provides the platform to grow, lead, and succeed.ResponsibilitiesEngineering design for airport projects to include runway, taxiway, access road, drainage improvement and pavement rehabilitation projectsDesign and construction oversight for commercial and general aviation clientsCollaborating with project team members, client representatives, review agencies to resolve a variety of complex problemsCoordination with clients and funding agenciesPotential for supervisory responsibilities of less experienced engineers and/or technical support personnel assigned to the projectPrepares and reviews technical reports, drawings, plans, specifications, and permits for projectsUses computer assisted engineering and design software and equipment to prepare engineering and design documentsPrepares cost estimates for assigned projectsOversees construction projects, conducts project site visits, reviews contractor's submittals, pay applications, etc.Demonstrates strong organizational and time management skills; works independently on multiple tasks without immediate supervisionBuilds and maintains excellent interpersonal relationshipsEducation & Experience Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited programMinimum of 3 years of Civil Engineering or Aviation related fieldProfessional Engineer (PE) license in Tennessee and Alabama, or an ability to obtain within 6 months of start date, is requiredProficient in using MicroStation, Open Roads Design and/or AutoCad, Civil3DWorking knowledge of the practical application of engineering principles, practices and techniques, and prepared to assume responsible charge for project designsSkill using Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word and ExcelWhy join us?Barge Design Solutions, Inc., is an engineering and architecture firm with diverse in-house multidisciplinary practice areas.
