Graduate Area DirectorThe Graduate Area Director (GAD) is a member of The Office of Campus Living and provides leadership for a residential area within the Campus Living footprint. The GAD oversees the safety and development of the residential area they are assigned to by conducting student outreach, supervising student leaders, and managing housing operations processes. To be successful in this position, the individual must excel at cultivating positive relationships with a diverse student community, mentoring student leaders, and effectively responding to emergency situations.The ideal candidate will support Campus Living's four foundations: Purpose; Relationships; Social Justice, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion; and Wellness.Preferred qualifications include:Experience supervising or advising live-in student leaders/staffExperience serving in an on-call or emergency response capacity responding to facilities concerns and supporting students experiencing physical and mental health emergenciesCommitment to the advancement of Social Justice, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion through personal or professional involvement on campus or in their communityAbility to write and verbally describe, in a clear, concise, and timely manner, communications regarding complex policies and procedures to students and campus partnersBasic understanding of housing software, Google Suite, and conduct softwareCurrently enrolled in a related graduate programAbility to navigate the entirety of the assigned residential community, with or without accommodation, as the position requires quick and unrestricted movement across the campus grounds including the use of stairs.Academic year duties and responsibilities include:Residential student engagementStudent conduct & emergency managementStudent leader supportTeamwork & teambuildingAgreement period:Anticipated start date: July 2026 (flexible)Anticipated end date: May 31st, 2027 (flexible)20 hours per week (average)Some evenings and weekends requiredCompensation:$18.80 per hourPartially furnished on-campus apartment, kitchen includedAccess to complimentary laundry facilitiesReserved parking spotChoice of meal plan provided through Bon Appetit during the academic yearProfessional development stipend of $300
