LONG ISLAND NYC LITIGATION ASSOCIATE ATTORNEY

A Long Island law firm is seeking a Litigation Associate to join its sophisticated and growing litigation practice serving institutional, private, and municipal clients throughout Long Island and the New York metropolitan area. The firm has offices in Uniondale and is known for handling high-level commercial, real estate, construction, land use, municipal, and employment disputes. This is an opportunity for an associate who wants substantive, intellectually engaging work where no two cases are the same. The group handles sophisticated motion practice, appeals, and complex litigation strategy across a broad range of industries and disputes. While the team does see trials, much of the practice focuses on high-level briefing, dispositive motions, and appellate work. Associates will have the chance to be on the front lines of significant matters and take on meaningful responsibility early in their careers. What makes this opportunity particularly unique is the level of client interaction and sophistication associates receive at a relatively lean platform. Associates work directly with institutional, private, and municipal clients and are exposed to highly nuanced legal issues that often do not arise in more routine litigation practices. The matters are sophisticated, strategic, and frequently involve unique factual and legal complexities. The ideal candidate will have 2–6 years of litigation experience and must be able to independently draft motions, manage discovery, conduct legal research, handle court appearances, and work directly with clients. Strong writing skills and attention to detail are essential. Most importantly, the people at the firm are genuinely outstanding. The culture is collaborative, supportive, and invested in developing talent long term. This is an excellent opportunity for a standout associate to come in, build real relationships with clients and partners, develop sophisticated litigation experience, and ultimately position themselves for partnership down the line. The firm has approximately 20–30 attorneys across its offices and offers a collaborative environment with sophisticated work typically found at larger firms while maintaining a more entrepreneurial and collegial culture. The annual billable requirement is 1,800 hours, with compensation and bonuses tied to overall performance and contribution to the practice. The base compensation range is $150,000-200,000
