Laser CMM Specialist

Position OverviewCraft Machine is seeking a skilled Laser CMM Specialist to join our team. The Laser CMM Specialist will be responsible for operating and maintaining laser coordinate measuring machines to ensure the accuracy and precision of measurements for manufactured components. This role requires expertise in laser metrology, CMM operations, and the ability to interpret technical specifications.ResponsibilitiesOperate laser coordinate measuring machines to perform accurate and precise dimensional measurements of manufactured componentsSet up and calibrate laser CMM equipment to ensure optimal performance and accuracyDevelop and execute measurement programs using CMM software to meet quality control requirementsAnalyze measurement data and generate detailed reports to verify component conformance to specificationsCollaborate with engineers and production teams to troubleshoot measurement issues and implement corrective actionsPerform routine maintenance and calibration of laser CMM equipment to ensure reliability and accuracyMaintain documentation and records of measurement results, equipment maintenance, and calibration activitiesEnsure compliance with quality assurance standards and procedures throughout the measurement processQualificationsBachelor's degree in engineering, metrology, quality assurance, or related field preferredProven experience as a Laser CMM Specialist or similar role in a manufacturing environmentExpertise in laser metrology techniques and CMM operationsProficiency in CMM software for programming and executing measurement programsStrong analytical skills and attention to detail in analyzing measurement data and identifying deviationsKnowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) principles and practicesExperience with quality assurance processes and proceduresExcellent communication and collaboration skillsPhysical RequirementsAbility to operate and maintain laser CMM equipmentStamina to perform detailed measurements and inspections for extended periodsVisual acuity and attention to detail for analyzing measurement data and identifying deviationsAbout Craft MachineCraft Machine is a leading manufacturer of precision metal components and equipment, with over 50 years of experience in the industry.
