OTA RF Test Engineer
Looking for an OTA RF Test Engineer to support wireless device validation and over-the-air (OTA) performance testing. This individual will be responsible for executing RF and antenna test activities, configuring test equipment, supporting wireless certification testing, and troubleshooting device performance issues. The ideal candidate will have hands‑on experience with OTA chambers, RF instrumentation, cellular and wireless protocols, and Qualcomm-based devices.
Scope
Execute OTA testing including TRP, TIS, EiRP, and EIS measurements.
Perform passive antenna efficiency and antenna pattern characterization.
Conduct RF power and sensitivity testing.
Execute wireless validation activities across LTE, NB‑IoT NTN, NR RedCap, Bluetooth BR/EDR, WiFi 2.4 GHz/5 GHz, and AGPS technologies.
Follow industry‑standard OTA test methodologies and wireless test procedures.
Operate and maintain OTA test systems including R&S OTA chambers and MVG Satimo OTA chambers.
Configure, control, and troubleshoot devices utilizing Qualcomm chipsets and associated Qualcomm development tools.
Support test execution, data collection, analysis, and reporting activities.
Work with engineering teams to identify, investigate, and resolve RF performance issues.
Support laboratory operations and test equipment readiness.
Required
5+ years of hands‑on Over‑the‑Air (OTA) testing experience.
Experience performing TRP, TIS, EiRP, and EIS testing.
Experience with passive antenna efficiency and antenna pattern measurements.
Experience conducting RF power and receiver sensitivity testing.
Strong understanding of LTE, NB‑IoT NTN, NR RedCap, Bluetooth, WiFi, and GNSS/AGPS technologies.
Experience operating OTA chamber systems including Rohde & Schwarz (R&S) and/or MVG Satimo platforms.
Hands‑on experience with RF test equipment including: Vector Network Analyzers (VNA), Spectrum Analyzers, Signal Generators, Keysight UXM‑R, Rohde & Schwarz CMW500, Anritsu 8820C.
Experience configuring and controlling Qualcomm‑based devices using Qualcomm tools.
Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and data analysis skills.
Pluses
Experience supporting wireless certification and carrier validation activities.
Experience with satellite‑enabled IoT or NTN technologies.
Familiarity with CTIA OTA test methodologies and industry certification requirements.
Experience working in consumer electronics, mobile devices, IoT, or wireless communications environments.
Experience supporting multiple wireless technologies within a laboratory setting.
Estimated Min Rate: $30.00
Estimated Max Rate: $35.00/hr+. Depends on work experience.
