Title: Software Engineer IIIJob Type: ContractContract Length: 6 monthsPay Range: $125 - $175/hrStart Date: ASAPLocation: RemoteAbout The OpportunityOur client, a leader in Cloud Data and AI Platforms, is looking for a skilled Software Engineer III to join their team for a 6 months engagement. This project involves developing features across a full-stack web application, managing data layer integrations, and building Python data pipelines to support critical security risk workflows. This is a high-impact role that requires a self-motivated professional who can hit the ground running and deliver results quickly.Key Responsibilities & DeliverablesThis role is focused on the successful completion of specific tasks and deliverables. Your responsibilities will include:Develop and maintain features across a full-stack Node.js web application, including front-end components, back-end APIs, and data layer integrations.Work with large structured datasets, writing and debugging complex SQL queries to support data retrieval, transformation, and reporting needs.Build, maintain, and debug Python-based data pipelines running as scheduled jobs for data preprocessing and ingestion.Integrate with external APIs (like Jira) and data exports to support security risk workflows.Use the platform's CLI to manage jobs, clusters, and deployments, and contribute to reducing technical debt in existing data pipelines.Deploy changes through a staging-to-production workflow (build, deploy, test, promote) and leverage AI engineering tools (like Cursor or Claude Code) to accelerate development.Required Skills & Experience:We are looking for someone with a proven track record of successful contract engagements. The ideal candidate will have:5+ years of experience in a similar role.Deep expertise in full-stack web development using Node.js or equivalent back-end frameworks. This isn't a learning role—you need to be a subject matter expert.Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and manage your own time effectively to meet project goals.Strong comfort working with SQL and data-heavy applications; ability to read, write, and debug queries against large structured datasets.Experience with Python scripting or notebook-based data workflows, CLI-based developer workflows, and cloud data platforms.Ability to ramp up quickly on an existing codebase, leveraging AI-assisted development tools to accelerate work.Strong communication skills and experience working in collaborative, async-heavy team environments.W2 only (No C2C or 1099 contractors)
