They will perform industry research with limited supervision for executing and capturing cost reductions on expenditure.Duties/Responsibilities:Research new/current procurement opportunitiesMaintain Database with accurate and correct informationBuild and develop positive, long-lasting relationships with vendorsNegotiate with vendors for goods and services, obtaining best price and service guaranteeEnsure compliance within company purchasing guidelinesProcess / Monitor / follow up on open purchases, not limited to delinquenciesDevelop new supply sourcesVerify purchase requisitions for appropriate approvalsVerify approved vendor purchasesWork with internal and external parties to formalize procurement requirementsCommunicate across functions and departments to effectively manage risks, issues, and opportunitiesMonitor vendor quality goalIdentify and suggest process improvementsCut Purchase Orders, working closely with the Production Specialist TeamRequired Skills/Abilities:Excellent verbal and written communication skillsExcellent organizational skills and attention to detailExcellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlinesStrong active listening skillsStrong collaboration skillsAbility to prioritize tasks and multi-taskAbility to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environmentProficient with Microsoft Office SuiteKnowledge of Procurement methodologyProfessional and detailed orientedAbility to work individually or in team settingsHighly adaptable individualEducation/Experience Requirements:High School Diploma or equivalent or experience in Customer Service for 2+ yearsPhysical Requirements:Work is performed in an office environment and requires the ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboard. Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and fingers. The Procurement Specialist is required to have close visual proximity to a computer to perform daily duties.
