Job Title: Lead Mechanical EngineerJob DescriptionWe are searching for a passionate Lead Mechanical Engineer who is hands-on, possesses a strong technical experience, and thrives in a close-knit engineering team. Our projects are dynamic and fast-paced, encompassing design, engineering, and in-house builds. You'll have the opportunity to test designs, which include complete vehicle engineering and builds, computer vision and machine learning in AgTech and Industrial Automation, aerospace mechanical and control systems, connected car and vehicle telematics, and large battery systems. Projects are typically completed in weeks or months, ensuring a variety of exciting challenges each year. Our team is dedicated to excellence and we provide a flexible work environment with unique perks, including access to our shop space and tools for personal projects.Responsibilities+ Design and engineer mechanical systems and components.+ Engage in complete vehicle engineering and builds, and test designs.+ Work on projects involving computer vision, machine learning, aerospace mechanical and control systems, connected car and vehicle telematics, and large battery systems.+ Participate in new product development and prototype design from cradle to grave.+ Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to deliver high-quality projects.+ Plan, manage, and coordinate multidisciplinary engineering efforts.+ Ensure adherence to quality, timing, and budget constraints.Essential Skills+ Mechanical design expertise.+ Proficiency in SolidWorks and sheet metal design.+ Knowledge of GD&T and prototype design.+ Experience in automotive engineering.+ Minimum 5 years of direct engineering experience within the automotive industry and/or engineering services.+ BS in engineering required, MS or higher preferred.Additional Skills & Qualifications+ Experience as a Formula SAE Team Lead is preferred.+ Generalist with involvement in systems-level design.+ Experience working in a startup/small business environment.+ Strong ability to connect and communicate with clients and project teams.+ Ability to multi-task and demonstrate attention to quality, timing, and program management considerations.Work EnvironmentOur work environment includes both shop floor and office settings.
