POSITION OVERVIEW The Safety Coordinator is the frontline champion of our "People First" culture. More than just a compliance officer, you are a proactive mentor dedicated to ensuring every team member returns home safely. You will spend your days in the field, bridging the gap between safety theory and real-world operations by conducting inspections, guiding field teams, and driving a culture of continuous improvement across all active project sites.This is a field-based position, requiring daily travel to dynamic construction and service environments.JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Site Safety ExcellenceConduct high-impact jobsite inspections to identify risks, ensure OSHA compliance, and verify that safety solutions are working in real-time.Act as a visible safety resource, monitoring field activities for adherence to company policies and site-specific safety plans.Collaborate on Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) and Pre-Task Plans (PTPs), and lead engaging daily safety briefings.Training & Field SupportProvide hands-on coaching and mentorship to supervisors and crews to build a proactive safety mindset.Lead onsite safety orientations, toolbox talks, and refresher training to keep safety top-of-mind.Partner with employees, subcontractors, and visitors to ensure 100% PPE compliance and site-rule adherence.Incident Response & AnalysisAssist in thorough incident investigations and root cause analyses to turn "near misses" into valuable lessons.Streamline the reporting process for injuries and property damage to ensure transparency and rapid response.Track corrective actions to completion, ensuring hazards are eliminated for good.Program AdministrationHelp launch innovative company safety initiatives and continuous improvement audits.Coordinate directly with Project Managers and Foremen to find practical solutions to safety challenges.ACCOUNTABILITIES Safety Momentum: Drive high participation in training and near-miss reporting.Operational Integrity: Ensure audits are completed and corrective actions are effectively implemented.Continuous Learning: Maintain meticulous records that transform incident data into future prevention. ORGANIZATIONAL ALIGNMENT This position reports directly to the Safety Team, serving as a vital link between corporate safety strategy and field execution.QUALIFICATIONS Certification: OSHA 30 Construction Certification (Required).Life Safety: Current First Aid/CPR certification (Required).Experience: Minimum 3 years of construction industry experience (Required).Mobility: Valid driver’s license and the ability to travel to job sites daily.Expertise: Strong understanding of OSHA regulations, construction safety practices, and hazard recognition.Physicality: Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and walk/stand for extended periods on active sites.Background: Prior experience in a safety-focused role (Safety Tech, Assistant, or Coordinator).Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with mechanical, electrical, or general construction operations.Soft Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence safe behaviors.Tech Savvy: Proficiency in basic computer applications (Outlook, Excel, Word) and mobile safety apps.
