Materials Specialist

Source One is a staffing services company currently seeking a Materials Specialist to support warehouse, inventory, and material operations for an autonomous vehicle company in Foster City, CA.Title: Materials SpecialistPay: $35.55/hr (W-2) + benefitsDuration: 1 year (likely extension)Overview: This role supports end-to-end material flow across receiving, inspection, inventory control, and fulfillment to ensure efficient operations aligned with production and quality needs. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable in a fast-paced, startup environment.Key Responsibilities- Manage return merchandise (RMA) processes, including receiving, restocking, and put-away- Perform warehouse operations: receiving, inspection, inventory management, order processing, and cycle counts- Conduct incoming inspections (physical, visual, and documentation verification)- Maintain accurate inventory, including QA hold and returned materials- Execute MRP transactions (work orders, inventory movements, shipping/receiving)- Support material flow to production, including picking and delivering work orders- Track and manage materials pending repair, rework, or disposition- Investigate inventory discrepancies and perform cycle count reconciliations- Partner with production and engineering teams to resolve material issues- Maintain organization and cleanliness of warehouse and inventory locations- Monitor and report on inventory levels, material status, and throughput- Identify and troubleshoot material flow issues; support process improvementsQualifications- 4+ years of warehouse, inventory, or materials experience preferred- Experience with RMA, procurement, or return-to-vendor processes preferred- Familiarity with MRP/ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle)- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills- Ability to manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision- Proficiency in Microsoft Office- Comfortable working in a fast-paced or startup environmentKey Skills- Receiving and inspection (physical, visual, documentation)- Inventory control and discrepancy resolution- Material handling, shipping, and internal transfers- Work order picking and production support- Cycle counting and inventory analysis- MRP transactions and system accuracy- Cross-functional communication with production and engineering
