This role requires strong guest engagement, product knowledge, and the ability to work seamlessly in both indoor and outdoor service areas while maintaining Sandestin's high standards for hospitality.Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesProvide welcoming, attentive, and personalized service to all guestsTake accurate food and beverage orders and enter them into the POS systemDeliver food and beverages promptly while ensuring presentation standardsMaintain strong knowledge of menu items, daily specials, and beverage offeringsMake recommendations and upsell menu items when appropriateMonitor guest satisfaction and respond quickly to requests or concernsMaintain clean, organized tables and service stations throughout the shiftProcess payments accurately and responsiblyWork collaboratively with kitchen and bar teams to ensure smooth serviceFollow all food safety, sanitation, and alcohol service guidelinesMaintain a professional appearance and positive attitudeAssist with opening and closing duties as assignedSupport team members to create a seamless guest experienceQualificationsPrevious serving experience preferred, preferably in a resort or high-volume restaurantStrong and clear communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environmentKnowledge of POS systems and cash handling preferredMust be dependable, punctual, and guest-focusedAbility to work flexible schedules including weekends, holidays, and eveningsFood Handler and Responsible Alcohol Service certification (or ability to obtain)Work EnvironmentCombination of indoor dining room and open-air beachfront service areasExposure to varying weather conditions including heat, humidity, wind, and sunFast-paced resort environment with high seasonal guest volumePhysical RequirementsStand and walk for extended periods (up to 8+ hours per shift)Frequently carry trays, plates, and beverage items weighing up to 30 lbsLift and move items up to 40 lbs occasionallyBend, stoop, kneel, and reach throughout shiftsAbility to work outdoors in heat, humidity, and changing weather conditionsMaintain stamina during busy meal periods and high guest volumeUse hands continuously for carrying, serving, and operating POS equipmentNavigate crowded dining spaces and uneven outdoor surfaces safelyEOE M/D/V/F
