Assembler & Machine Operator
2nd Shift General Production This role supports the production of radiators and cooling systems by performing a variety of hands-on assembly tasks on a rotating basis across multiple divisions. You will work on a fast-paced production line, contribute directly to the quality and reliability of finished products, and follow established safety and manufacturing procedures throughout your shift. Responsibilities: Rotate between four primary divisions of radiator and cooling systems assembly according to production needs and supervisor direction. Perform tube stuffing by inserting small tubes into larger tubes as part of the radiator assembly process, ensuring proper fit and alignment. Hang hooks for the paint line, preparing radiators and components for coating and ensuring they are securely and correctly positioned. Insert plugs into radiators prior to the paint line to protect internal components and maintain product quality during finishing. Push approximately 25 small dowels through designated holes in radiators, maintaining accuracy, consistency, and production pace. Follow all standard operating procedures, safety guidelines, and quality standards while working on the production line. Inspect parts visually during each step of the process and report any defects, irregularities, or equipment issues to the appropriate personnel. Work effectively in a general manufacturing environment that includes machines, welders, and assemblers operating in the same facility. Maintain a clean and organized work area, handling materials, tools, and equipment safely and efficiently. Collaborate with team members and support a positive, productive work atmosphere during the entire 2nd shift schedule. Essential Skills: At least 6 months of production experience in a manufacturing, general production, or assembly environment. Ability to perform repetitive production and assembly tasks on a fast-paced assembly line. Capability to lift up to 40 lbs safely and repeatedly as required by the job. Ability to stand for up to 8 hours during a 10-hour shift while performing production duties. Comfort working in a hot manufacturing environment with machines, welders, and assemblers operating nearby. General production and assembly skills, including familiarity with manufacturing processes and basic tools. Ability to follow instructions, standard operating procedures, and safety guidelines consistently. Reliability in adhering to the 2nd shift schedule of 3:00 PM to 1:00 AM, Monday through Thursday. Additional Skills & Qualifications: Experience as a machine operator or on an assembly line in a manufacturing setting. General labor roles within industrial or production environments. Strong attention to detail when inserting tubes, plugs, and dowels to ensure product quality. Ability to work effectively as part of a team of approximately 60 employees in a growing facility. Willingness to rotate between different tasks and divisions throughout the shift. Comfort wearing required personal protective equipment, including steel-toe footwear. Why Work Here? The team currently includes about 60 employees and continues to grow, providing a busy and collaborative production atmosphere. This position follows a 2nd shift schedule from 3:00 PM to 1:00 AM, Monday through Thursday, for a 10-hour shift. Steel-toe footwear is required as part of the dress code, and appropriate personal protective equipment is used to support safety in the facility. Job Type & Location: This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Canton, SD. Pay and Benefits: The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $20.00/hr.
