Secretary at Walnut Creek Elementary (2026-2027)East Holmes Local Schools is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented School Secretary to support the daily operations of the school office. This role serves as a key point of contact for students, staff, parents, and the community, while also providing administrative and accounts receivable and accounts payable support. The ideal candidate will be organized, professional, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced educational environment.This is a full-time, Monday through Friday, 7-1⁄2 hours per day, 205 day contract. Position starts August 1, 2026.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide administrative and clerical support to school leadership and staffServe as the first point of contact for visitors, students, and parentsManage phone calls, correspondence, and front office operationsMaintain accurate student and office records in compliance with school policiesAssist with scheduling, attendance tracking, and report preparationAssist with lunch dutiesFinancial ResponsibilitiesMaintain accurate financial records, spreadsheets, filing systems, and office documentationAssist in monitoring and maintaining building budgetsAssist staff with purchasing procedures, financial processes, and reimbursement requestsReview, verify, and Submit invoices and payment requests accurately and in a timely mannerCollect, track, deposit, and process all funds received by the school while maintaining accurate deposit records and cash accountsHelp maintain vendor files and communicate with families, vendors, and the district finance office regarding fees, billing, payments, and account informationSubmit purchase requests, place orders, and help track building supply and inventory purchasesAssist with audit preparation and maintain required financial documentation in compliance with district policies and proceduresMaintain confidentiality of student, staff, and financial informationPerform other finance-related and administrative duties as assigned QualificationsProficiency in Google Workspace and Microsoft Office, particularly Sheets/Excel and Docs/WordStrong time management and organizational skillsExcellent attention to detail and accuracy, especially with financial dataEffective written and verbal communication skillsAbility to multitask and work independently in a school environment Preferred QualificationsPrevious experience as a school secretary or in an educational settingExperience with accounts receivable and accounts payable, invoicing, or basic bookkeepingFamiliarity with student information systems and school office procedures
