We are committed to fostering a collaborative environment where healthcare professionals thrive and deliver exceptional medical services to our diverse community.Role OverviewWe are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Hospitalist to join our team at Mission Community Hospital. This full-time position operates on a 7 on / 7 off schedule, providing an excellent work-life balance. The Hospitalist will deliver comprehensive medical care to hospitalized patients, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes in a dynamic and supportive environment.ResponsibilitiesProvide comprehensive medical care to hospitalized patients, including diagnosis, treatment, and management of acute and chronic conditions.Conduct thorough patient assessments, including history-taking and physical examinations, to develop individualized treatment plans.Coordinate care with specialists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless and effective patient care.Order and interpret diagnostic tests, prescribe medications, and perform hospital-based procedures as needed (e.g., central line placements, lumbar punctures, when applicable).Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR) system, ensuring compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards.Communicate effectively with patients and their families, providing education on medical conditions, treatment plans, and discharge instructions.Participate in quality improvement initiatives, hospital committees, and infection control efforts to enhance patient care and safety.Collaborate with the healthcare team to facilitate patient admissions, discharges, and transfers.Provide mentorship and guidance to medical students, residents, or advanced practice providers as needed.Required QualificationsMD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.Board certification or eligibility in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine.Valid California medical license or eligibility to obtain one prior to starting.Current certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).Strong clinical skills with the ability to manage complex patient cases and make sound clinical decisions.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to patient-centered care.Preferred QualificationsMinimum of 1-3 years of experience as a Hospitalist or in a similar acute care setting.Proficiency with electronic medical record (EMR) systems, preferably Meditech.Experience performing hospital-based procedures such as intubation or central line placement.Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.Technical Skills and Relevant TechnologiesProficiency in electronic medical record (EMR) systems for patient documentation and management.Familiarity with clinical decision support tools and evidence-based guidelines.Experience with telemedicine platforms or remote patient monitoring tools is a plus.Soft Skills and Cultural FitStrong problem-solving and analytical skills to address complex clinical scenarios.Empathy and compassion in patient interactions, fostering trust and rapport.Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic hospital environment.Commitment to teamwork, collaboration, and fostering a positive work culture.Dedication to continuous learning and professional development.Schedule7 on / 7 off schedule, with 12-hour shifts (typically 7 AM to 7 PM or 7 PM to 7 AM, depending on assignment).Flexibility to cover day or night shifts as needed, with nocturnist support available.Benefits and PerksCompetitive salary range: $260,000 - $320,000 annually, based on experience.Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance.Retirement savings plan with employer matching.Generous paid time off (PTO) during off weeks.Continuing medical education (CME) allowance and support.Relocation assistance for eligible candidates.Malpractice insurance coverage.Opportunities for professional growth and leadership within the organization.Equal Opportunity StatementInnovative Medical Solutions and Mission Community Hospital are committed to diversity and inclusion in our workforce.
