Production Lead
Responsible for understanding the correct and safe process of getting products to the customer. This role oversees an entire cell/area and reports up to the shift supervisor. They will be responsible for the seamless flow of production. As a cell leader you will take full responsibility for your area and be able to effectively communicate with the shift supervisor. Duties and Responsibilities:Ensure all required PPE is being worn and in good condition, promoting a safe work environment.Actively participating in the Safety Committee. Identify HS&E issues and report out.Root causing incidents / accidents and putting into place corrective measures.Directs the production flow to ensure that employees are following all proper policies and procedures.Leads Cell Huddles.Responsible for maintaining the cell boards with the proper updated information. Maintains all paperwork and or labels. Manages the workload by confirming glass is being properly cut to reduce mistakes.Monitors FIFO to ensure glass moves through the shop in an efficient manner to meet deadlines and On Time Deliveries.Follows up on late orders and remakes through to completion. Perform inspections on all glass as it is removed from each machine to check for chips or bad edges and notes issues so the damage can be assessed.Assists with keeping the floor clean of tripping hazards. Audits daily 5S and ensures that the areas are maintained.Ensure the working environment is clean and safe.Ensure employees are trained.Promote cross-trainingEnsures identified Key Critical positions have trained backups.Must be available to fill in and run a production area when asked by the shift supervisor.Drives Continuous Improvement.Must be available to work overtime.All other duties as assigned.Required Skills/Abilities:Ability to read, write and identify written measurements. Operates machinery safely, including saws, drills and power tools with precision and accuracy. Holds others accountable when they perform an unsafe action.Strong attention to detail and excellent problem-solving skills. Ability to work well with the entire staff. Must be able to effectively communicate with all department heads.Must maintain good/above average attendance (2 points or less)Preferred Education and Experience:Must be in good standing with HMI's policies and procedures.Physical Demands:Must be able to lift glass panels up to 85lbs repeatedly and stand for 8-10 hours or until all orders are completed for the day. Work Environment:Warehouse Environment. Non-temperature controlled
