Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Controller with a strong background in Real Estate accounting and Family Office operations. This individual will oversee all financial, accounting, and reporting activities for a diverse portfolio of real estate assets, private investments, and high-net-worth family entities.The ideal candidate will thrive in a boutique, fast-paced environment, possessing the technical expertise to manage complex entity structures alongside the discretion and communication skills required for family office dynamics.Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Management & AccountingOversee all day-to-day accounting operations, including Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), payroll, and general ledger management for multiple corporate and family-owned entities.Lead the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes, ensuring accurate and timely financial statements.Manage complex intercompany transactions, fund flows, and capital account reconciliations across a multi-tiered entity structure.Implement, maintain, and monitor robust internal financial controls and accounting policies.Real Estate Portfolio AccountingManage property-level accounting for a portfolio of real estate assets (residential, commercial, or development projects).Oversee construction draw processes, capital expenditure (CapEx) tracking, and property management financial integrations.Analyze cash flows at both the individual asset level and the consolidated portfolio level to optimize liquidity.Coordinate with joint venture partners and third-party property managers on financial reporting and distributions.Family Office & Wealth ServicesProvide comprehensive financial reporting for family members, including net worth statements, investment performance summaries, and cash flow forecasting.Coordinate closely with external CPA firms, tax advisors, and legal counsel on tax planning, annual tax return preparation, and wealth transfer strategies.Oversee financial oversight for personal high-net-worth assets, which may include luxury properties, aviation, marine, or lifestyle expenses.Assist in evaluating and onboarding new private equity, venture capital, or direct real estate investment opportunities.Qualifications & SkillsExperience: 7–10+ years of progressive accounting experience, with a mandatory minimum of 3–5 years combining real estate accounting and family office (or high-net-worth individual) management.Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or CFA designation is highly preferred.Technical Proficiency: Advanced knowledge of specialized real estate and family office software (e.g., Yardi, AppFolio, MRI, QuickBooks, or specialized wealth aggregation platforms like Addepar/Arch).
