Purchasing Manager

Purchasing ManagerThis role will be part of Global Business Operations and will be primarily responsible for managing corporate purchases including lab equipment, software, essential supplies etc., build and maintain relationship with vendors, negotiating discounts and managing corporate purchasing programs.Client is a fabless semiconductor company who is a leader in developing purpose-built connectivity solutions that remove performance bottlenecks in compute-intensive workloads such as Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. We are hiring a Purchasing Manager to support rapid growth and to be a critical member of the Operations team.Primary ResponsibilitiesManaging daily purchasing activitiesManaging supplier relations and negotiating contracts, prices, timelines, etc when requiredMaintaining the supplier database, purchase records, and related documentationContinuously cultivate and build supplier relationships leading to long term price and service agreements, shared costs savings (through collaborative value analysis/engineering)Work with the R&D engineering and quality departments in the selection and qualification of suppliersSupporting new product introduction activity on product development teamsUtilize a broad knowledge of markets, suppliers, industries, and technologies to deliver annual cost savings and increased efficienciesPartner with R&D engineers and brand/product managers/staff to identify, analyze and perform financial analysis for cost savings opportunitiesManage and improve purchasing system and corporate payment platformsTrain employees how to use and enforce the purchasing processQualificationsBachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Change Management, Purchasing, or equivalent job experience5+ years of relevant and recent procurement management experience in support of corporate general purchasesStrong negotiation skills, including price, service levels, payment, and delivery termsManage effective supplier relationshipsDemonstrated success with developing a strategic procurement approach in parallel to tactical hands-on engagementExperience in a start-up organization highly preferredExcellent communication skillsMust be able to work in a fast paced, dynamic startup environment with competing prioritiesAble to change direction and adapt to change easilyStrong work ethic is essential
