This is not an exhaustive list of all duties and responsibilities, and LCMC Health reserves the right to amend and change responsibilities to meet organizational needs as necessary.GENERAL DUTIESCustomer Service:Treats all customers with dignity, respect, courtesy and compassion.Recognizes customer needs and begins to solve problems as soon as they are apparent.Interacts with patients, families, visitors, and fellow employees to ensure a professional and courteous environment.Financial Stability:Resolves conflicting matters and schedules with peers and other staff.Uses time and attendance system appropriately and adheres to related policies and procedures.Stays aware of and reports possible compliance issues, specifically concerning fraud and abuse.Patient Throughput:Keeps patients informed and gives periodic updates as appropriate.Contributes to organizational goal of patient throughput.Performance Improvement:Promotes and supports LCMC’s performance improvement initiatives.Demonstrates and actively promotes compliance with all state and federal regulatory and accrediting agencies (i.e., patient safety, infection control, HIPAA, etc.).Documents in accordance with departmental and organizational policies.Coordinates All Office Operations And Staff:Ensures all customer needs are accommodated in a professional manner which includes answering telephone calls and complaints in a timely, professional and courteous manner.Performs registration and cashiering duties. Manages clinic schedule to meet scheduling criteria and blocks schedules as necessary.Ensures all new employees are provided with proper training in all aspects of their assigned duties.Develops positive employee/supervisor relations and encourages teamwork.Provides input for respective clinics and yearly budget and assists in review of clinic policies and procedures and spearheading clinic service expansion.Performs all required employee evaluations in a timely manner.Orders supplies as necessary.Assists Marketing in creating material and optimizing medical mediums and participation in community events to highlight clinic initiatives.Schedules monthly clinic staff and Physician meetings.Reviews all charges prior to submission to the billing office:Assists with patient billing problems when necessary.Reconciles all daily packs prior to submission and forwards all hospital charges, and any transactions to the billing office.Verifies and submits clinic charges in electronic medical record. Performs monthly billing audits and identifies areas for improvement. Investigates billing inquiries from external billing company. Handles check reimbursement requests.Manages all information relative to depositions, subpoenas, attorney requests, court appearances, attending physician statements, and medical records in a timely manner.Manages All Information Relative To Depositions, Subpoenas, Attorney Requests, Court Appearances, Attending Physician Statements, And Medical Records In a Timely Manner:Performs all clerk/receptionist duties in the absence of personnel.Performs other duties as requested by the Department Director.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSRequired: High School Diploma/GED or equivalent AND 5 years of previous office management experience.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIESComputer skills.Customer Relation skills.Billing and Coding skills.Medical terminology knowledge.Working knowledge of Microsoft office.
