ControllerA vertically integrated real estate development and construction company is seeking a Controller to oversee financial operations across a diverse portfolio of development, construction, quarry, and property management entities.This is a high-impact leadership opportunity for an experienced accounting and finance professional who wants far more than a traditional back-office accounting role. Controller, you’ll serve as the senior financial leader responsible for overseeing day-to-day accounting operations, financial reporting, budgeting, internal controls, and financial analysis across all entities.You’ll work closely with department leaders across construction, development, quarry operations, and property management while also serving as a key financial resource to executive leadership.Core Responsibilities.Financial Management & ReportingOversee accounting operations across approximately 15 LLCsManage entity consolidations, intercompany transactions, and financial reportingProduce accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statementsMaintain and manage a complex, multi-division chart of accountsEnsure accurate accounting for construction projects, land development activities, acquisitions, and ongoing property operationsOversee job costing and project accounting across construction and site development projectsManage lender reporting, draw requests, loan compliance, and banking relationshipsBudgeting, Forecasting & Financial AnalysisPartner with department heads to develop and manage annual operating budgetsMonitor budget-to-actual performance and provide variance analysisAssist leadership with forecasting, capital planning, and cash flow managementPrepare financial analyses and reports to support executive decision-makingTeam Leadership & Process ImprovementSupervise and mentor accounting staff across multiple functionsEstablish and improve accounting policies, procedures, and internal controlsHelp build scalable financial infrastructure to support organizational growthCoordinate with external CPAs regarding audits, tax preparation, and complianceInsurance & Risk ManagementManage the company’s commercial insurance portfolio including:General liabilityBuilders riskProperty insuranceAuto coverageWorkers’ compensationCoordinate renewals, audits, claims, and certificates of insuranceIdentify potential coverage gaps and evolving risk exposuresExecutive Financial SupportServe as a trusted financial resource to ownership and executive leadershipAssist with personal financial organization and coordination with outside advisors as neededSupport special projects, ad hoc financial reporting, and strategic planning initiativesWhat We’re Looking ForBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field7+ years of progressive accounting or financial management experienceBackground in real estate development, construction, or property managementExperience working within multi-entity environments strongly preferredStrong understanding of:Job costingConstruction accountingProperty management accountingIntercompany accountingExperience with loan administration, lender reporting, and draw processesProficiency with accounting platforms such as QuickBooks, Yardi, or similar systemsAdvanced Excel skills and comfort working within complex charts of accountsProven ability to lead and develop accounting teamsHigh level of professionalism, discretion, and integrityPreferred ExperienceFamiliarity with LLC structures and intercompany accountingExperience supporting executive-level
