Odoo/Python Architect & Solution Consultant

Overview Forte Group is looking for an Odoo/Python Architect & Solution Consultant. This role requires a highly experienced architect to define the overall solution and technical direction for a complex custom implementation within the Odoo ERP system. The ideal candidate will act as a consultant to bridge the gap between business requirements and technical implementation, providing clear guidance for the development team.This is a part‐time role for 3 months.Key Responsibilities Architectural Solutioning: Determine the best architectural approach for complex business problems within Odoo. This includes deciding whether to use out‐of‐the‐box features or build custom modules.Data Model Definition: Define core data models, addressing critical questions such as how to structure patient (horse/cat/dog), owner, and vet relationships while leveraging existing Odoo constructs like "Company" and "People".Technical Consulting: Provide expert advice on Odoo's technical limitations and capabilities, helping the team understand what can be achieved and how close they can get to desired user experiences.Development Guidance: Translate architectural decisions into well‐defined stories or Jira cards (work instructions) for developers.Module and Feature Integration: Advise on integrating various Odoo modules, such as Docusign contract functionality, CRM, and the payments module, ensuring data flow is correctly configured (e.g., defining where client names and mailing addresses are stored).Required Skills and Experience Odoo Expertise: A very strong, architect‐level understanding of Odoo and its internal workings.Development Background: Experience in Python and the ability to build custom Odoo modules.Communication: Full command of the English language.Consulting/Business Analysis: Capability to work with the client to identify the business problem, recommend implementation solutions, and define limitations.7+ years of Python development experience.4+ years of hands‐on Odoo development.Strong knowledge of Odoo ORM, PostgreSQL, REST APIs, XML/QWeb.Experience building custom Odoo modules.Understanding of core Odoo modules (Accounting, Inventory, Sales, Purchase, Contact, CRM).Git / version control experience.Performance tuning and scaling Odoo environments.ERP implementation or business process automation background.Docker or containerization.Project Context The project focuses on developing a system for a client in the animal reproduction business. The system needs to manage a complex process lifecycle, including:Handling multiple entities like the patient (animal), owner, vets, and ranches.Tracking charges applied to the owner.Managing various process stages.Nice to Have Work your way — anywhere, anytime.
