What You'll Be DoingJob Summary: Generally responsible for performing engineering task to support the complete design of small and large civil engineering projects using theoretical knowledge and practical design methods. This work will be performed under general supervision at our office in Decatur, AL. Relocation support may be available for those who qualify.Primary Responsibilities Will Include But Not Be Limited ToProduce low complex, complete design calculations and assignmentsProvide design assistance on larger and more complex assignmentsDevelop conceptual layouts and cost studiesAssist with drafting of plans and details for the completion of engineering drawingsPerform fieldwork to gather data, check tie-ins, and provide construction supportDevelop written construction specifications that define the scope of work, provide specific instruction, and prescribe quality standardsPerform land development and zoning code research for civil-site development projectsWork with discipline lead engineer in identifying scope changes in projectsReview and check submittal drawings and documentationIdeal BackgroundEducation: Bachelor or Master of Science degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university is required.Registration: Engineer in Training (EIT) registration is strongly preferred and may be required.Experience: This position requires up to 1 to 3-years of relevant experience in civil-site engineering in the industrial setting. Previous experience in commercial, government, or infrastructure setting may be considered for this position.Required Knowledge, Skills, And AbilitiesAbility to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, maintaining focus and re-prioritizing as necessary to meet multiple commitmentsKnowledge and application of associated standards (ASCE, ACI, AASHTO, AREMA, NRCS, NFPA, etc.)Working knowledge of civil stormwater analysis software including operating and interpreting resultsAbility to actively listen and ascertain the needs of Teammates and Clients Ability to work with a team to complete small and large projectsAble to assist with the development of presentations of Hargrove Engineers & Constructors servicesWorking knowledge of AutoCAD.
