Job Description Experienced Probate, Estate, and Trust Administration Paralegal – Black McCuskey Black McCuskey, a well-established Ohio law firm of over 100 years, is seeking an experienced Probate, Estate, and Trust Administration Paralegal to join our growing legal team. This position offers an excellent opportunity for a highly organized professional with strong attention to detail and experience in probate court procedures and estate and trust administration. Position OverviewThe Probate, Estate, and Trust Administration Paralegal will assist attorneys in all aspects of probate matters, estate settlement, and trust administration. The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable working directly with clients during sensitive matters. Key ResponsibilitiesAssist attorneys with probate, estate, and trust administration matters from opening through closingPrepare and file probate documents with Ohio probate courtsDraft pleadings, fiduciary accounts, inventories, and estate administration documentsReview, analyze, and organize bank, brokerage and other account statements and documentation of assets and liabilitiesMaintain accounting and tax recordsCoordinate with fiduciaries, beneficiaries, financial institutions, and courtsAssist with trust administration and preparation of related documentationMaintain case files and track important deadlinesCommunicate directly with clients and provide updates regarding estate and trust mattersAssist attorneys with the preparation and filing of fiduciary income tax returns, estate tax returns, and gift tax returnsSupport attorneys with research and preparation of legal documents QualificationsMinimum 3 years of experience in probate, estate administration, and trust administrationFamiliarity with Ohio probate court procedures and filings· Understanding of the basic concepts of wills, trusts, powers of attorney, estate and trust administration, beneficiary designations, and probate and non-probate assetsProficiency with Microsoft Office, legal case management systems, and fiduciary accounting and tax softwareExcellent organizational, communication, and client service skillsAbility to manage multiple matters as well as to appropriately docket and meet court, tax, and other deadlinesAssociate or bachelor's degree in Paralegal Studies, Paralegal certificate, or equivalent experience is preferredUnderstanding of fiduciary income tax, estate tax, and gift tax is preferredAdditional experience in estate planning is also preferred, but not required· Ability to accurately track billable time and work efficiently in a billing-based environment· Licensed notary in the state of Ohio (or willing to become a notary) What We OfferCompetitive salary based on experienceComprehensive benefits packageSupportive and collaborative work environmentOpportunity for professional growth within a respected law firm Qualified candidates should submit a resume detailing relevant experience.Black McCuskey is an Equal Opportunity Employer.Company DescriptionBlack McCuskey, a well-established Ohio law firm of over 100 years, is seeking an experienced Probate, Estate, and Trust Administration Paralegal to join our growing legal team.Company DescriptionBlack McCuskey, a well-established Ohio law firm of over 100 years, is seeking an experienced Probate, Estate, and Trust Administration Paralegal to join our growing legal team.
