Overall Purpose of the Job
he Field Service Technician for the Drilling Technologies Division (DTD) is responsible for the complete and safe operation of all Drilling Technologies products and services inclusive of VersaFlo (casing and drill pipe flow back and circulation tools.) Follows the proper procedures/processes given to execute field tasks safely and efficiently. Utilizes electronic equipment to perform basic maintenance, troubleshooting and repair. Practices awareness concerning issues of health, safety and the environment; cooperates with emergency teams to anticipate and deal with any hazardous and/or unusual situations (sour gas environment, high-pressure wells, oil spills and line leaks, inclement weather, acts of vandalism, etc.) May join with technical groups and field personnel on teams to promote production efficiency and safety. Responsible for their own health and safety and for anyone else who could be affected by their work, never attempting to undertake any task without adequate supervision. Promptly reporting any unsafe/unsatisfactory plant and/or systems of work, or those not being operated to Expro’s standards or QHSE procedures. Ensure their work area(s) are kept clean and free from obstructions. Keep up to date with all new developments with equipment and operational requirements as instructed. Ensure all required operational documentation is completed in an accurate and timely manner and forwarded to Operations Office for processing. Professionally represent the company at client meetings when requested. Assist onshore/workshop operations in any company location as required. Meet all operational deadlines/schedules as required, including: Pre/post-job meetings, check-ins, flights/travel obligations, safety meetings, toolbox talks and shift configurations. Develop and demonstrate competence in the disciplines that relate to the DTD Field Technician Level 1 in the Local Field Career Development Competence Map. Assist with packing, unpacking, dressing, servicing and routine maintenance of the Drilling Technologies equipment as detailed in the company maintenance procedures. Able to conduct rig surveys, develop and maintain site specific JSA's and procedures. Collect job data and compile post job reports in a timely manner. Keep current with all necessary safety training courses and qualifications.
Key Activities and Accountabilities
To check the parts and operation of tools prior to usage on location.
Assist with equipment maintenance in other bases.
Provide daily contact report to Drilling Tools Coordinator while on the job.
Liaise with Company Rep, maintaining positive, professional corporate image of the company at all times.
Attend monthly based safety meetings when onshore and client meetings when requested.
Ensure all operational documentation is completed in a timely manner and forwarded to office.
Job Knowledge and Qualifications
The DTD Field Technician must:
Successfully rig up, operate/run, and rig down Drilling Technologies products.
Serves as operational representative for DTD services provided on the rig.
Works as crew member and fill a normal position on the crew as required during the actual installation/work
To carry out rig surveys as required.
Develop and maintain site specific JSA’s/Procedures
Minimum Requirements
High School Diploma or GED preferred.
Oil and Gas experience with downhole tools essential.
Valid personal identification documents and industry required credentials (TWIC).
Must have the drive and ability to meet operational deadlines and adapt as required by operational needs.
Excellent operational and leadership skills.
Be able to communicate via Oral presentation and written documentation
Be able to travel.
