Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience — talk with your recruiter to learn more.Base pay range: $65,440.00/yr - $81,800.00/yrLocationThe position is based at Four Points by Sheraton Hotel & Conference Center in Norwood, MA, supporting the One Bistro Restaurant. The property is owned by Hobbs Brook Real Estate LLC, the real estate division of FM.Why Join Us?It's a great opportunity to join an award-winning hotel in a collaborative, supportive, and high-energy environment where your contributions are valued and growth is encouraged.Shift HoursFull time Salaried position with a minimum of 40 hours a week. Open availability for days, nights, and weekends.HolidaysThis is a 24/7 operation, so holiday coverage is required.Christmas Day is the only exception unless an event is scheduled.Flexibility is offered to take alternate days off when holidays are worked.ResponsibilitiesLead food service team in dining area, handling hiring, scheduling, training, guiding, and evaluating.Manage front-of-house food and beverage operations, including coordinating events and following established procedures.Participate in and contribute to annual special events for the hotel and conference such as Mother's Day and Easter events (servicing over 1,000 guests per event).Develop and implement procedures and policies for the employees and the front-of-house food and beverage unit.Assist in creating, planning, implementing, and evaluating training needs of the staff.Administer cash handling, end-of-shift reports, daily and weekly record keeping, reviewing BEOs, restaurant/banquet recaps, forecasting, and other general administrative duties.Resolve customer and staff issues, implement SOPs, and meet the goals of the organization, department, and unit.Maintain facility upkeep by communicating needs to designated managers.Supervise (10) full-time and part-time employees on any given shift.Ensure all controls, including bi-annual inventory controls, are met.Follow state and local sanitation codes.Provide a positive attitude and create a nice first impression.Record all charges entered in the POS system correctly and balance at the close of the shift.Complete all side work at the end of each shift.Qualifications2+ years of restaurant supervisory experience required. Experience supervising banquets a plus! Experience working in a hotel and free-standing experience are helpful.Computer proficient with tools such as MicroSymphony, Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.Strong customer service skills.Effective communication abilities to engage supervisors and customers both written and verbal.Proven leadership skills.Experience creating weekly schedules for the team.Managerial experience to resolve guest/employee issues.Strong organizational abilities and effective time management, capable of task prioritization in a fast-paced setting.Understanding of cost controls and cash handling.Physical ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds as part of regular job duties.EducationHigh School Diploma or GED. Tips and SERVSafe Certified preferred.BenefitsThe hiring range for this position is $65,440 - $81,800.
