Software Test Engineer (Automation Focus | Telecom Systems)(Not for Vendors)Location: Allen, Texas (Hybrid)Why this role existsWe’re looking for a Software Test Engineer who can step into a complex telecom environment and help modernize how testing is done.Right now, there’s a real opportunity to close automation gaps, reduce manual testing, and strengthen CI/CD-driven quality practices for our direct client's broadband push-to-talk and desktop communication systems.This is a hands-on role where you won’t just execute tests—you’ll help shape the testing approach.What you’ll doIdentify gaps in current test automation coverage and propose solutionsDesign and build automated testing frameworks from the ground upCreate and maintain automated test cases across functional and regression testingDevelop test plans and structured testing approaches for engineering teamsIntegrate testing into CI/CD pipelines using JenkinsSupport nightly build validation and release readinessPerform manual testing when needed to ensure full coverageWhat you bringStrong Python scripting experienceHands-on PowerShell experienceSelenium experience for UI automationJenkins experience for CI/CD integrationBackground in test automation framework developmentExperience with both manual and automated testingAbility to write clear test plans and test casesSolid understanding of SDLC / STLCExperience working in Agile environmentsNice to have (strong plus)Wireshark or network troubleshooting experienceNessus or security vulnerability scanningServer / infrastructure validation experienceExperience with telecom, VoIP, or push-to-talk systemsWhat success looks like hereYou’re someone who doesn’t just run tests—you improve the system itself.You spot inefficiencies, build automation where it’s missing, and help move the team toward faster, more reliable releases.LogisticsLocation: Allen, TX (Hybrid – Tues/Wed/Thurs onsite, Mon/Fri remote)Schedule: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PMDuration: 3–6 month contract (extension possible)Work samples required (important)Please include examples of prior test automation work at the end of your resume:Sample test casesAutomation framework examplesTesting strategy or approach documentationAccessible links Work authorizationMust be eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
