You will join a highly motivated IT team responsible for daily operations, maintenance and implementations of new systems. This includes systems such as the clinical EHR, financial management, supply chain management, payroll/human resource, interface engines and more. The position provides a range of technical and functional software services. This is an exciting opportunity to work for one of the largest healthcare information technology companies. Altera Digital health provides managed services to Springhill Medical Center’s facilities and is located on the hospital’s main site in Mobile, AL.Job SummaryAn IT Computer Operator is responsible for monitoring and controlling computer systems, ensuring that hardware and software operate efficiently and securely. They support daily IT operations, perform routine maintenance, handle system alerts, and assist in troubleshooting issues to minimize downtime.Key ResponsibilitiesMonitor computer systems, servers, and networks to ensure smooth operationExecute scheduled tasks such as backups, batch jobs, and system updatesRespond to system alerts, errors, and outages in a timely mannerMaintain logs of system performance, errors, and activitiesPerform routine hardware and software maintenanceAssist in troubleshooting technical issues and escalate when necessaryAssist in resolving support calls escalated by the Service DeskEnsure data integrity and system security protocols are followedInstall and configure basic software and hardware componentsSupport IT teams with system upgrades and migrationsFollow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and compliance guidelinesService Now ticket compliancyRequired Skills & QualificationsBasic knowledge of computer systems, operating systemsFamiliarity with networking concepts and IT infrastructureStrong problem-solving and troubleshooting skillsAbility to follow procedures and work independently or with a teamAttention to detail and strong organizational skillsGood communication skills for reporting issuesEducation & ExperienceHigh school diploma or equivalent (required)Associate or bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related field (preferred)0–2 years of experience in IT operations or supportWork EnvironmentOn-site IT department operations centersStandard work week, with the possibility of after-hours, on-call support, and holiday work as required.Primarily works in a standard office environment.Will require one week on call rotation every 4-5 weeksRole may involve prolonged computer use and monitoring screens On-call and after-hours work may be required during peak times, such as the end of the month, quarter, year or during applications upgrade.Summary: The IT Computer Operator is responsible for supporting business processes and developing/maintaining technical systems.Must be authorized to work in the USLocation: On Site - Mobile, ALDuration: Full-TimeSalary Range: $38,000 - $45,011The salary range reflects the anticipated base salary for this position at the time of posting.
