We actively seek to employ a diverse workforce representative of the communities we serve.Position: Chief Financial OfficerSalary: $150,000 to $170,000 per year- ExemptHours: Monday- Friday; 8:30am- 4:30pmLocations: Ronkonkoma, NYAssociation for Mental Health and Wellness is seeking a Nonprofit CFO (Chief Financial Officer) to manage the financial operations of the agency, ensuring the agency's financial health and sustainability. This role will oversee all financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and fiscal compliance requirements. The Nonprofit CFO will work closely with the CEO (Chief Executive Officer) and the Board of Directors to develop and implement strategies that support the agency's mission and goals.Key responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:Financial ManagementDevelop and implement financial strategies that support the agency's mission and goalsManage and oversee all financial operations, including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysisEnsure the accuracy and completeness of financial records, including the general ledger, accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and other financial systemsPrepare and present financial reports to the CEO and Board of Directors, providing analysis and recommendations as neededEnsure compliance with all financial reporting and regulatory requirements, including tax filings, audits, and other reporting requirementsDevelops and maintains systems of internal controls to safeguard financial assets; including establishing controls over financial reporting, fraud prevention, and disclosureEnsures that finance staff maintains financial record systems in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles, and monitors the use of all fundsManage relationships with external partners, including banks, auditors, and other financial service providersBudgeting and ForecastingDevelop and oversee the annual budgeting process, working closely with program leadership to develop realistic and achievable budgetsPrepares operating budgets for Requests for Proposals (RFP's) and participates in grant proposal writing and reports as requestedMonitor actual performance against budget and provide regular updates and analysis to the CEO and Board of DirectorsDevelop and maintain financial forecasting models that support long-term financial planning and decision-makingStrategic Planning and LeadershipWork closely with the CEO and Executive leadership to develop and implement strategic plans and goals that support the organization's mission and visionLead the Finance Committee, collaborating with other committee members to provide strategic financial guidance and support to the organizationProvide leadership and mentorship to the finance team (Accounting, Billing, Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable) , fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional developmentResponsible for the supervision of the Coordinator of Facilities and Maintenance and the oversight of Housing Program operationsOversee project for on-time delivery form outside vendors; IT, data warehouse, building and maintenanceCollaborate with other program leadership to develop and implement strategies that support the organization's mission and goals; driving program sustainability and growthBoard Relations and ReportingReport on the financial performance of the agency to the Board of Directors, including regular updates on budget performance, forecasts, and financial risks and opportunitiesCollaborate with the CEO and Board of Directors to develop and implement financial policies and procedures that align with the agency's values and strategic goalsRepresent the agency at internal and external events and meetings, providing financial guidance and support as neededTax Filing and ComplianceOversee all tax filings and compliance requirements, ensuring that the agency is in compliance with all relevant laws and regulationsMaintains a thorough working knowledge of federal, state and managed care reimbursement payment methodologies, including: xevrcyc contractual accounting, payment calculations, billing requirements and compliance issuesManage relationships with external auditors and other financial service providers to ensure compliance with all reporting and regulatory requirementsQualifications:Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting and/or its equivalent required, CPA preferred.Minimum ten years' in a CFO role requiredBehavioral health/healthcare experience preferredKnowledge of Health Insurance, including Medicaid, Medicare and MCO's required; Behavioral Health billing a plusExperience working with finance and accounting software packages; knowledge of Fund EZ nonprofit accounting software preferredProven track record of successful financial management, including experience developing and implementing financial strategies, managing budgets, and overseeing financial reporting and complianceMust have knowledge with specific funding sources: OMH, OTDA, HUDExcellent verbal and written communication skills requiredExceptional organizational, communication, leadership, and interpersonal skillsAccuracy and attention to detail are essentialStrong quantitative and analytical skills requiredDemonstrated ability to set priorities, handle multiple assignments, and work with resourcefulness and efficiency in a fast-paced and changing environmentA commitment to supporting psychiatric recovery and emotional healing and wellnessApplication:Send a resume and cover letter expressing your interest in this position to: Kathy Elfers, Chief People and Experience Officer at
