This leadership role will drive financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, operational analysis, compliance, and strategic decision-making across a fast-paced, multi-plant manufacturing environment.The ideal candidate will bring strong manufacturing finance experience, operational partnership capabilities, and the leadership skills necessary to support rapid growth across the organization.Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Leadership & OversightLead all regional accounting operations including job costing, inventory accounting, general ledger management, and financial reportingEnsure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual close processesMaintain strong internal controls and ensure compliance with GAAP and company policiesSupport financial standardization and process improvements across multiple facilitiesBudgeting, Forecasting & AnalysisLead annual budgeting and forecasting activities across the divisionAnalyze financial performance, identify trends, and provide variance analysis to senior leadershipDevelop actionable recommendations to improve operational efficiency and profitabilitySupport strategic planning initiatives and long-term growth objectivesOperational & Strategic PartnershipPartner closely with Operations, Supply Chain, Engineering, and Plant Leadership teamsProvide financial guidance on investments, capital projects, and cost-reduction initiativesSupport plant performance improvement efforts through data-driven insightsDrive accountability and visibility into operational KPIs and financial metricsCompliance & AuditEnsure compliance with local, state, and federal financial and tax regulationsCoordinate external audits and regulatory reviewsMaintain strong relationships with external auditors and third-party partnersLeadership & Team DevelopmentLead, mentor, and develop regional accounting and finance teamsFoster a collaborative, high-performance culture focused on accountability and continuous improvementSupport talent development and succession planning within the finance organizationQualificationsBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field requiredMaster’s degree preferredCPA or CMA certification strongly preferred10+ years of progressive finance/accounting experience within a multi-plant manufacturing environmentMinimum 5 years of leadership experience managing accounting or finance teamsStrong experience with job costing, inventory accounting, and operational financeExperience supporting multiple manufacturing sites or geographic regionsStrong knowledge of GAAP, financial controls, and financial reporting practicesExperience with ERP systems such as Oracle, SAP, or Microsoft Dynamics strongly preferredExcellent analytical, leadership, and communication skillsAbility to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth manufacturing environmentPreferred ExperienceExperience within a global or multi-national manufacturing organizationStrong project management and process improvement capabilitiesFamiliarity with tax and compliance regulations across multiple jurisdictionsExperience partnering cross-functionally with Operations and Supply Chain leadership teamsWhy Join Virginia Transformer?If you love the thrill of helping secure the U.S. electric grid while working inside a fast-moving, rapidly growing manufacturing organization, this is the place for you.At Virginia Transformer, you’ll have the opportunity to make a direct impact, work alongside industry leaders, and grow your career as fast as the company grows.Relocation assistance may be available for qualified candidates interested in moving to the Roanoke, Virginia area.
