This is a critical leadership role for a proactive professional who excels at bridging the gap between institutional stakeholders and technical service providers.We are looking for an operational leader who is ready to "own" the campus environment-someone with a strong technical foundation who can hold engineers accountable while maintaining high standards for student and faculty spaces.The Role & Team StructureYou will serve as the operational heartbeat of the campus, supervising one Facilities Coordinator and working in close tandem with the Facilities Project Manager and Event Services Manager.Operational Leadership: Oversee building performance, custodial services, and infrastructure reliability (HVAC/Electrical).Stakeholder & Vendor Liaison: Act as the primary point of contact for campus leadership and landlords. Manage the full vendor lifecycle, from proposals and POs to expense tracking.Quality & Compliance: Conduct regular building assessments and maintain strict adherence to NYC building codes and safety protocols.Technical Supervision: Mentor internal staff while holding third-party contractors and engineers to rigorous service delivery standards.RequirementsExperience: 7+ years in facilities management with a working knowledge of HVAC, electrical systems, and construction project management.Industry Focus: 3+ years in a higher education or academic setting is strongly preferred.Leadership: Proven ability to manage direct reports and negotiate effectively with landlords and vendors.Communication: Ability to articulate technical challenges and operational updates clearly to non-technical leadership.Professionalism: A track record of professional commitment and a structured approach to role transitions.
