Our client, a growing systems integrator in West Michigan, is looking for a Controls Engineer to help design and deliver cutting-edge automation solutions for a wide range of industrial processes.This is an exciting opportunity for an engineer who enjoys working with PLC programming, SCADA systems, and industrial automation technologies while gaining hands-on experience across the full project lifecycle-from system design through commissioning.If you enjoy variety in your work, collaborating with experienced engineers, and seeing your solutions come to life in real-world industrial environments, this role could be a great fit.What You'll DoDesign, develop, and implement automated control systems and software solutions for industrial projectsProgram and configure PLC and SCADA systems for new and existing automation applicationsSupport projects from design through testing, commissioning, and startupTroubleshoot control systems, instrumentation, and motor control applicationsCollaborate with senior engineers and project managers to deliver high-quality automation solutionsInstall and test automation equipment at customer facilities when requiredContinuously develop expertise in emerging automation technologies and toolsWhat You BringExperience with industrial automation systems, including PLCs, SCADA, and electrical control systemsHands-on experience with PLC programming platforms, such as Rockwell Studio 5000 or similar toolsExperience developing or supporting SCADA/HMI applicationsStrong troubleshooting ability with motor controls, instrumentation, and relay logicUnderstanding of industrial networking and computer systemsStrong critical thinking and problem-solving skillsValid driver's license and willingness to travel to customer sites as neededWork EnvironmentThis role combines office-based engineering work with hands-on field experience. You'll spend time developing automation solutions in the office and supporting installations or troubleshooting at customer facilities.
