You'll help residents get to and from destinations safely, assist with mobility as needed, and provide a friendly, professional presence for our community.What You'll DoTransport residents safely in compliance with all state and federal driving regulationsCommunicate professionally with residents, families, community staff, and medical officesInform residents and staff of pick-up and drop-off times for appointments and activitiesFollow scheduled routes with minimal changes; provide reminders to residents as neededAssist residents on and off vehicles using lifts, stairs, wheelchairs, and walkers safelyEnsure all assistive devices are secured before vehicle departureHelp residents with belongings, opening doors, and other mobility assistance during outingsMaintain resident rosters and account for all residents during tripsRespond promptly to accidents or emergencies according to established protocolsMaintain vehicle inspections, license plates, insurance, and ensure timely preventative maintenanceFoster teamwork, take initiative, and support coworkers, residents, and visitorsPerform other duties as assigned What We're Looking ForHigh School Diploma or GEDPrior experience working with older adults preferredValid Class B state driver's license with a clean driving recordCPR/BLS and First Aid certification requiredMust be 18 years or olderMeet health requirements including TB clearancePass state-required fingerprinting and criminal background checkCompassion for and desire to work with older adultsStrong verbal and written communication skillsAbility to follow instructions and safely assist residentsFamiliarity with vehicle operation and basic maintenance logging Physical RequirementsAbility to stand, walk, sit, use hands, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb, and balanceAbility to talk, hear, and use vision effectivelyOccasional weekend, evening, or night work and on-call as neededPossible exposure to communicable diseases, blood-borne pathogens, and other hazardsAbility to lift and assist residents as needed, up to 50 lbs occasionallyFrequent interaction with coworkers, residents, and vendorsJoin Milestone to provide safe, reliable transportation for our residents and make a meaningful difference in their daily lives.
