BROC Foundation Coordinator
Job Summary:The BROC Foundation Coordinator oversees the daily operations of the BROC Foundation Athletic Training Outreach Program and supports the delivery of high-quality sports medicine services to athletes across our partnering organizations. This role coordinates athletic training coverage, supports the recruitment and development of athletic training staff, and facilitates effective communication among athletic trainers, sports medicine physicians, clinical staff, school partners, and community partners. The BROC Foundation Coordinator serves as a key liaison between the outreach program and its partners while helping organize community outreach initiatives and professional development opportunities for athletic training staff. Through strong leadership, collaboration, and program oversight, this position helps ensure the program operates efficiently while advancing the mission of the BROC Foundation.Responsibilities:Assist with supervision and professional development of the BROC Foundation Athletic Trainers.Assist with overseeing staffing operations to ensure appropriate athletic training coverage, competency, and professionalism across organizations.Supports and promotes evidence-based clinical practice among BROC Foundation Athletic Trainers, ensuring high standards of patient care across organizations.Helps ensure organization’s policies and procedures and emergency action plans are appropriate, effectively implemented, and maintained to support safety across organizations.Provides athletic training coverage across organizations to ensure continuity of care during athletic training staff absences, vacancies, or increased operational need.Ability to work evenings, weekends, and occasional holidays as required by program and event needs.Coordinates PRN coverage for athletic events throughout the community.Assist in interviews and hiring of applicants for available athletic training positions within the BROC Foundation.Assist with completing annual employee performance evaluations for all BROC Foundation Athletic Trainers.Addresses employee concerns and questions and offers reasonable corrective actions.Communicates regularly with the BROC Foundation Director, keeping him/her informed of workflow, personnel issues, and any other issues that may arise.Assists in planning and executing community outreach events such as coaching education initiatives, including First Aid, CPR, and AED certifications, emergency action plan training, injury prevention, and treatment of relevant medical conditions.Assists in planning and executing continuing education events and supports professional development opportunities for BROC Foundation athletic trainers.Coordinates collecting, processing, and disseminating deliverables to community partners.Maintain professional relationships with the BROC Foundation sports medicine physicians, physical therapists, community partners, and organization administration.Promotes and maintains a positive, professional, and patient-centered atmosphere at each organization, clinic, and throughout the community.Addresses patient concerns, questions, or complaints in a timely and professional manner and works to facilitate appropriate resolution when needed.Communicates with and assists the physicians and acts as liaison between the athletic training staff, physicians, and other department supervisors as needed.Works to meet the needs of community partners and ensures the Athletic Training Outreach Program runs efficiently and effectively.Assists the Marketing Manager with community outreach events, budgets, and web page maintenance.Communicates IT-related needs and network issues to the IT Director.Performs other related duties as assigned and serves in whatever other capacity deemed necessary for successful completion of the mission and goals of the BROC Foundation.Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:Maintains a neat, organized, and safe work environment and promptly report safety concerns to the BROC Foundation Director and/or Risk Management/Safety Officer.Effectively manages time and multiple responsibilities in a dynamic work environment, completing tasks accurately and within established deadlines while supporting team members as needed.Communicates professionally and promptly with the BROC Foundation Director regarding challenges, concerns, or issues related to job responsibilities and escalates matters of concern as needed.Always represents the BROC Foundation and community partners in a professional manner and demonstrates the ability to interact positively with physicians, clinical staff, physical therapists, community partners, athletes, families, and other stakeholders to support the mission and operations of the BROC Foundation.Works cooperatively with BROC clinical staff and community partners to ensure high-quality patient care and to support the standards of care established by all BROC Foundation partners.Maintains accurate, complete, and timely documentation in patient medical records when applicable.Demonstrates strong communication, customer service, organizational, and computer skills.Demonstrates knowledge and proficiency in the domains of athletic training, including injury and illness prevention and wellness promotion; clinical examination, assessment, and diagnosis; immediate and emergency care; therapeutic intervention; and healthcare administration and professional responsibilityMaintain required professional licensure, certifications, and applicable professional memberships in good standing.Practice in accordance with standing orders and protocols established by the supervising physician, the BROC Foundation and organization’s policies and procedures, including protection of patient privacy and confidentiality in accordance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and ensure the BROC Foundation employees do the same.Adheres to the BROC Compliance Plan and applicable policies by following documentation guidelines, participating in compliance education, and reporting any concerns related to compliance or regulatory standards and ensure the BROC Foundation employees do the same.Practice in accordance with the Louisiana Athletic Trainers Practice Act, and applicable professional standards, including the Board of Certification for the Athletic Trainer (BOC) Standards of Professional Practice and the National Athletic Trainers' Association (NATA) Code of Ethics and ensure the BROC Foundation employees do the same.Requirements:Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Athletic Training from a Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE) accredited program.Current athletic training certification by the Board of Certification for the Athletic Trainer (BOC)Currently licensed as an Athletic Trainer in the state of Louisiana or eligible to obtain a licensure prior to the start date.American Heart Association Provider (BLS) certification, which includes CPR and AED, or the equivalent through American Red CrossPreferred American Heart Association Instructor for BLS and Heartsaver courses.Preferred leadership or supervisory experience within an athletic training or sports medicine setting.Reliable transportation to work daily.Ability to pass a drug screening.Ability to work evenings, weekends, and occasional holidays as required by program and event needs.Physical requirements include: Ability to lift, move, or exert force up to 20lbs constantly, 50lbs regularly, and 100lbs occasionally; safely transfer patients or treatment supplies; perform tasks requiring upper body strength and manual dexterity for treatment modalities and equipment
