Job Description DescriptionOak Grove Children's Center, a small nonprofit childcare program, is seeking a compassionate, teacher‐qualified early childhood educator to serve as a Float Teacher across our infant, toddler, and preschool classrooms. You may step into a lead role, assist with routines, or support curriculum implementation depending on the classroom's needs. A strong candidate is confident working with children from birth through age five and can adapt smoothly to different teaching teams and environments.We're looking for someone who is:· Self-motivated and flexible· Creative and able to adapt to changing needs· Calm, positive, and patient· Skilled in communication with children, families, and colleagues· Detail-oriented and able to multitask effectivelyQualificationsMust submit to and pass a Minnesota DCYF background checkFully teacher‐qualified under Minnesota licensing requirementsExamples include:A 2‐year degree in Early Childhood Education or related fieldA current Child Development Associate (CDA) credentialEquivalent coursework or experience recognized by DCYFStrong knowledge of child development and positive behavior guidancePrior experience in a licensed childcare setting, preferably in multiple age groupsAbility to step into a lead‐teacher role when neededPrimary ResponsibilitiesEnsure the health and safety of all children through active, engaged supervisionBuild warm, trusting relationships with children, families, and staffSupport and implement the center‐provided curriculum across age groupsUse positive behavior guidance strategies aligned with developmentally appropriate practiceMaintain clean, organized, and inviting classroom environmentsAssist with daily routines, including meals, transitions, rest time, and toileting/toilet‐learningCommunicate effectively with parents and guardiansCollaborate with teaching teams to support smooth daily operationsObserve and monitor children's developmental progress and share insights with lead teachersComplete required documentation and paperwork promptlyFollow all center policies and DCYF regulationsParticipate in ongoing professional development and required trainingAttend staff meetings as scheduledMaintain flexibility in daily assignments and availabilityMust be flexible with availability***This job description is not exhaustive.
