Accounting Manager (Full time in person position)Organization: National Organization of Black Law Enforcement Executives (NOBLE)Department: Finance & AdministrationReports To: Executive LeadershipLocation: Monday through Friday in person/Alexandria, VirginiaPosition SummaryNOBLE is seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Accounting Manager to oversee daily accounting operations, financial reporting, budgeting support, grant allocation and fiscal compliance activities. The Accounting Manager will play a critical role in maintaining the financial health and integrity of the organization while supporting leadership with accurate and timely financial information. This position requires strong nonprofit accounting experience, sound judgment, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a mission-driven environment.Key ResponsibilitiesOversee day-to-day accounting operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll coordination, and general ledger maintenance.Prepare financial analysis and reporting related to conferences and sponsorship activities to support budgeting, forecasting, and organizational financial planning.Ensure compliance with nonprofit accounting standards, grant requirements, and applicable federal and state regulations.Support annual budgeting and forecasting processes.Coordinate and assist with annual audits and preparation of audit schedules.Maintain internal controls and recommend process improvements to enhance operational efficiency.Oversee financial record retention and documentation.Collaborate with program managers and leadership regarding budgets, grant expenditures, and reporting requirements.Supervise accounting support staff or external accounting vendors, as applicable.Support special projects and organizational initiatives as assigned.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably within a nonprofit organization.Strong knowledge of GAAP and nonprofit accounting principles.Experience with audits, budgeting, grant reporting, and financial compliance.Proficiency in accounting software, Microsoft Excel, CRM.Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound professional judgment.CPA certification preferred but not required.Preferred AttributesMission-driven professional committed to organizational excellence.Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.Experience supporting executive leadership and board reporting.CompensationSalary range for this position is anticipated to be between $90,000 and $111,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
