The ideal candidate possesses a belief that all students are capable of learning. Experience with co-teaching and inclusion practices, including collaborative planning, are recommended.Essential Duties & Responsibilities:Knowledge of early childhood development and best instructional practicesTeaching core content classes in a self-contained classroom/homeroom: ELA(CKLA) Mathematics(Eureka), Science, and Social StudiesStrong classroom management and organizational skillsAbility to differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needsEffective verbal and written communication skillsProficiency in using instructional technologyCultural competency and commitment to serving a diverse student populationCapacity to work collaboratively with colleagues, families, and support staffWillingness to reflect on practice and implement feedbackAttending IEP, 504, student support, and team meetingsParticipating in grade-level and content vertical planning meetingsParticipating in the Warrior S.T.R.O.N.G. schoolwide positive behavior support protocolsKnowledge, Skills & Abilities:Experience in collaborating with social service agencies.Strong facilitation and communication skills.Proficient in English.Bilingual Candidates Preferred.Qualifications & Requirements:Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferredValid Massachusetts DESE Early Childhood (PreK-2) teaching licenseSEI (Sheltered English Immersion) endorsement requiredExperience teaching in urban public school settings preferredSuccessful completion of all pre-employment requirementsU.S. citizenship, residency, or valid work authorization requiredEqual Opportunity EmployerLawrence Public Schools is an equal opportunity employer committed to fostering an inclusive environment for employees and applicants.
