Cashier - Grocery Store

As part of the Balls Food Stores family, we offer the stability of a locally owned company with deep community roots.This is a great fit for someone who enjoys interacting with people, building connections, and recognizing opportunities to enhance the guest experience through service and product awareness.Key Responsibilities & Job DutiesProvide friendly, helpful, and respectful guest service at all timesAccurately scan and process guest purchases while maintaining speed and accuracyHandle cash, credit, and electronic payments following proper proceduresStay informed on promotions, pricing, and store initiatives to support sales and enhance the guest experienceEngage with guests to answer questions, make suggestions, and help connect them with products that meet their needsCommunicate clearly with teammates and leadership to support smooth front-end operationsMaintain a clean, organized, and safe checkout and front-end areaStock, face, and assist with product placement as neededOperate POS systems, scanners, and related equipment accuratelyMonitor inventory levels near checkout areas and report issuesFollow food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety standardsAssist with bagging, restocking, cleaning, and supporting other departments as neededRemain productive during slower periods by supporting store presentation and identifying opportunities to improve the guest experienceOther job duties as assignedMinimum QualificationsRequired: High school diploma, GED, or equivalent work experienceRequired: Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidaysPreferred: Experience in grocery, retail, or food service environments
