YMCA OF MADISON COUNTY JOB DESCRIPTION Job Title: Early Learning Lead Teacher Job Code/Grade: N/A Branch: YMCA of Madison County FSLA Status: Non Exempt Reports to: Site Director Revision Date: 02/04/23 Position Summary: This opening is for a Childcare Lead Staff for the YMCA Early Learning Childcare Facilities. This position takes place onsite (At one of the early learning childcare facilities) and will be under the direction of the Youth Dev. Or Site Director. Shifts are between the hours of 7:00am - 6pm. This position is 40 hours per week and considered full time with benefit options. Childcare Lead Teachers are responsible for implementing Association policies and procedures by supervising youth and implementing the Childcare curriculum provided by the VP of Youth Development Director. Ensures the safety and engagement of children at assigned school site. 2. Provide support to staff. 3. Provide exceptional customer support with quick reply time to parents. 4. Develop rapport with faculty at assigned facility. 5. Ensure childcare curriculum is being provided to student and follows the YUSA model. 6. Provides careful, attentive supervision, alert at all times. 7. Serves as a positive role model to youth & staff. 8. Facilitates a program environment that invites exploration, promotes positive play, and welcomes children. 9. Promotes a team concept through a positive approach to supervision, communication, and interactions with others. Maintains on-going communication with supervisor. 10. Maintain accurate classroom records as assigned and according to program requirements. 11. Communicates regularly with parents; attends parent/family events as designated by supervisor. 12. Demonstrates a working knowledge of YMCA mission, purpose and goals, childcare policies and YMCA standards; ensures the program meets the highest standards of excellence. Qualifications: 1. Must be at least 18 years of age. 2. Must have high school degree or GED 3. Bachelor’s degree in youth development or education preferred 4. Two years of relevant experience working with children under the age of 13 in an educational setting preferred. 5. CPR & First Aid Certification required within first 30 days 6. Must possess oral, auditory and written communication skills appropriate for interacting with both children and adults. 7. Positive role model with strong leadership, conflict resolution and diplomacy skills. 8. Must be capable of directing the daily administrative & program related, and responsibilities of the Childcare Program. 9. Must have form of transportation 10.
