Commercial Chiller Service Technician

Snapshot / Role OverviewWe're seeking a Commercial Chiller Service Technician in Palm Desert, CA to maintain large tonnage chillers for resorts, hotels, and commercial properties in the Coachella Valley.Impact• Support hospitality operations by maintaining reliable chilled water systems for guest comfort and process cooling• Minimize equipment downtime through proactive maintenance and rapid response to chiller failures• Optimize chiller efficiency and reduce energy costs through expert tuning and water treatment management• Extend equipment life and protect client investments by conducting thorough preventive maintenance• Deliver professional service that strengthens client relationships and contract renewalsResponsibilities• Service and maintain commercial chillers including air-cooled and water-cooled centrifugal, screw, and scroll models• Troubleshoot and repair chiller system failures involving compressors, motors, control panels, and refrigerant circuits• Conduct performance testing including temperature analysis, oil sampling, and vibration monitoring• Manage chiller water treatment programs to prevent scaling, corrosion, and biological growth• Respond to emergency service calls to restore cooling operations during extreme heat conditions• Inspect cooling towers, condenser water pumps, and chilled water distribution systems• Complete detailed service reports and communicate recommendations to facility managers• Coordinate equipment shutdowns and major repairs with hotel operations teams• Mentor junior technicians on chiller troubleshooting and repair proceduresRequirementsMust-Haves• 5+ years of commercial chiller service experience• EPA Universal refrigerant certification• Strong diagnostic skills for large tonnage chillers and controls• Valid California driver's license• Physical ability to work in mechanical rooms and extreme heatNice-to-Haves• OEM certification from major chiller manufacturers (York, Trane, Carrier)• Experience with hospitality chiller systems and process cooling• Knowledge of VFD drives and building automation• OSHA 30 certificationCompensation & LogisticsCompetitive salary depending on experience; benefits include health insurance, PTO, holidays, 401(k) matching, company vehicle, specialized tools, and on-call pay.Call to ActionIf you're ready to advance your career in mechanical construction, apply today or connect with us to learn more.
