Landscaping AssistantAs a Landscaping Assistant you are responsible for the appearance and care of the landscaping and grounds on the park. You will receive some great benefits as perks while working in a great environment at Gatlinburg Skypark.
ResponsibilitiesThe Landscaping Assistant's typical job functions include:
Planting and tending to flowerbeds and other vegetation, may assist with watering and fertilizing of flower beds and potted plants
Performing pest control, weeding and dead-heading in flower beds
Assisting with grounds preparation and support of special events that take place at the resort
Ensuring all parking areas, walkways and drives are clean and free of debris on a daily basis, including grass clippings, leaves and sand
Assisting in the future annual flower bed layouts and design
Other tasks to be assigned by Ground Maintenance Manager
QualificationsThis position might be for you if:
You are at least 18 years old; achieved a high school diploma or completed a GED
You have knowledge of general grounds maintenance techniques
You have a valid driver's license
You enjoy working outdoors in any weather conditions
You possess excellent organization and communication skills
You are responsible, flexible, dedicated, and dependable person; neat and tidy in appearance and reliable, positive in attitude a must
You are flexible in scheduling to meet seasonal staffing requirements; this position may include weekend and holiday shifts in addition to regular shifts
Ability to lift forty pounds occasional lifting to eighty pounds
You prefer a physical job that includes occasionally lifting of over 50 pounds
You are able to stoop, bend, kneel, climb, and remain standing on feet for lengthy periods of time
You are able to safely operate small landscape machinery, e.g. backpack blower, hedge pruners, etc.
