We are seeking an experienced Controls Engineer to support and enhance automation systems within a polyurethane foam manufacturing environment for automotive seating. This is a hands-on, on-site role working closely with production, maintenance, and engineering teams to drive efficiency, reliability, and continuous improvement.Key ResponsibilitiesSystem Design & ProgrammingDesign and program PLC/HMI systems for foam manufacturing equipmentWork with Modicon and Allen Bradley PLCs (future transition to Siemens)Develop logic using ladder, function block, and SCL (preferred)Create operator interfaces and SCADA systems using Aveva InTouchProcess Control & OptimizationMonitor and optimize processes (mixing, curing, cutting)Implement control strategies for temperature, pressure, and chemical dosingTroubleshoot automation issues to minimize downtimeMaintenance & SupportProvide technical support for automation and production equipmentDevelop and maintain PM procedures for controls and instrumentationMaintain PLC program archives and system documentationProject ManagementLead automation projects from concept through commissioningCoordinate with vendors and contractorsManage timelines and capital budgetsQualificationsBachelor’s degree in Electrical, Controls Engineering, or equivalent5+ years of relevant industry experience (automotive interiors preferred)Experience installing automated systems (assembly lines, robotic cells)
